I wanted to share with everyone my experience meeting Richard at RCC Turbos this morning. It's about a 3 hour drive from my place to his shop. What a great set up he has! new building, awsome shop! He spent the following three hours with me, he showed me around his shop and explained every part of his business and what he does. I was like a kid in a candy store! I think he is one of the most straight forward straight shooting kinda guy I have ever met. Needles to say, he is the authority on turbocharging a Busa! I sold him my motor and some other stuff, I paid for a Dyno Tune for my new bike - some time in the spring, I'll post results then.

Hey Ken, You know, it kinda freaked me out when I asked about buying a PC5usb and Rich asked Why? I said "don't you need it to properly tune the brock 4-2-1??" That's when Rich showed me this program, he can set the soft and hard cut off, he can eliminate the rev limiter (factory settings are set to 10,800 rpm for EVERY GEAR (soft cut off except for in 6th) Rich said I could could sell my "Ivan's TRE", his re-mapping / flashing the ECU would take care of that! Wow! isn't that so cool! I can tell when someone is full of shit and tring to pull the wool over, not Rich, I really senced that he knew exactly what he was talking about. He described situations where he would call Dyno direct and ask techy questions and they would comment that it appeared that he knew more about their Dyno's then they did. Ok, it's obvious that I'm excited, can't wait to get the new bike tuned. Basically totally stock motor, Pipercross filter, Brock Alien head 4-2-1 exhaust, 15,500 km - I wonder what I'll get at the rear wheel.
(man I'd love to get a 300hp turbo!)

Did Richard give you a cost on the re-flash of the ECU.

yes he did, he may have given me a deal (not sure) since he bought a motor and a few other items from me. I paid $300 for a dyno / ecu flashing.

once we get a few good rain down pours in the spring to wash away the salt and sand, I plan to head over to get my dyno done, maybe we can head over together and you could get a better deal since we'd be there for the same thing.... just an idea.

Richard said that a customer was running one of his 650HP turbos at a track in Maine and with out even trying hard he ran an unofficial 311 mph! that's just sick! he said the 650 turbo needed some tuning before he would really try for a top speed. Richard's working on a 1000HP turbo for the busa - that would just be insane to watch that run!

That's frightening.

Brocks makes a great pipe, you should run north of 190 at the rear wheel. Bill Warner is a tremendous guy. He went down at Texas but hopefully will be back up and running in a few months. Richard knows his stuff and makes a tremendous turbo kit. I love dump pipes.

I think Rich was telling me about Bill's off. Was it because the old to new asphalt change while he was braking hard?? They looked ovr the vids and determined it happened right at the change in asphalt - might be someone else??
