Here's my baby

My wingman just picked up a busa after 6 years on an RC51. We got the bike about 2 weeks ago when it was stock with HMF dual carbon high pipes and after a saturday of TLC, I put on a yosh TRI 4 into 1, K&N filter, PAIR mod, small airbox mod, TRE, DB windshield and carbon fiber RAM air scoops. A few days ago we installed the powder coated rearsets and passenger pegs along with the caliper arm. I should receive his PC3R this week along with his clear alternative smoked front flashers and integrated tail light so we can take off that undertail and we're also getting the hugger from FSMD.

Once that's all in the only thing left will be the head light cover or to tint the actual headlight and the get the spare body work painted and find a carbon fiber can and chop it. He removed all the factory stickers and detailed the whole bike also. It looks awesome! My bike looked just like that when I got it too. My black plastics are in the basement. Makes me wanna go back to black lol. Just too high maintenance.

So for now here's some pics, I'll have some others soon as the rest is done. Black one is dirty in this pic but detailed since. It's spotless now :)

Can you tell us about your front brake calipers?
What've you done? Have you gone to radial brakes like the 08? Do you prefer it? Is it worth it?

They are GSXR1000 Forks & Calipers K4 with K6 Wheels and PVM K6 Rotors.
That is why I spaced the Calipers (Red Spacers) up for the larger Rotors.

I am using a Trac Dynamics raked Triple Tree for a Busa in order to clear the Intercooler once I lower it some more for Drag Racing.

I finished it in August and have some fine tuning to do...

As for being worth it... it just makes you look twice and ask... :oh yeah:

The Forks are lighter with much more adjustability and the Brakes are a borrow over from GP Racing which are better.
But they are heavier and the Bolts tend to move under extreme braking causing them to seize sometimes... :roll eyes:

The new Forks K7 or 8 are better designed to prevent this (machined collers for the calipers to sit on. The new Busa is this way.

Nice which one do you find to be more fun, does the new one pull that much harder than the older one. They both look good but I have not yet grown on that tail section.

HP only 172, but performance is substantially quicker, chassis much more refined, fit/finish is better and braking is much improved.

It accelerates to 8,000rpm's a full second quicker than Gen I !!

She's a bit more than stock right now. Small accessories like chrome reservior caps, spike bar ends, tank bra, new windscreen....etc. So far almost 800.US in minor customizing. It's well worth it though.

I no you lot remove the side reflectors as soon as you get your bikes , but in the UK we don't have them fitted................So as we dont have them, I quite fancy putting the front one's on my bike.

I stuck a deal with Vance and Hines in Indiana who comissioned this bike to be built. It's on it's way to my place in Billings Montana. I checked my tracking through JC Motors this morning and they say its last check point was Columbus OH. The pics I posted were shot at Vance and Hines Motorstorts building. The bike has 108 miles and Paul at Vance and Hines gave me as many details as he knew about it. Roland Sands desinges the layout, panit and scheme of the bike as well as the one of a kind gold pm Marque Wheels. He also tolld me that Vance and Hines built the full race exhaust system and tuned them to this bike with other goodies on their dyno. The pipes are one of a kind and were never produced. Theres a whole list of upgrades including the 240 kit but what I'm interested in is does anyone know anything about this bike other than it's been in superstreetbike magazine and on PM's catalog. I don't know the issue of ssb feature or the discovery channels bikerbuild off where it's been seen. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I do have great pics from V&H when they put it on a skid for shipping but the are too big to post and I can't figure out how to reduce them manually. Thanks..

here are a couple from Memphis AMA Dragbike. My turbo is an 06 that was just completely changed with cut seat rails etc so I went ahead and updated the plastics to 08. The 08 I ran in real street and had a real chance at winning but was DQ'd in error-long story. There are more pics at myspace.com/fastlif

After first round eliminations tech decided to DQ everyone who did not display and tag on their bikes. It was a rule in 07 but did not get in the 08 rule book. After the first guy was DQ'd I was still in line to cross the scales etc. When the announcement was made I by-passed the scales as I was told face to face I was DQ'd for no tag. I went to my trailer and put my tag on and by that time they called everyone back and said they made a mistake because it wasn't in the rulebook. Everyone was reinstated so we thought. When we went up for the next round I was not in the ladder. They had me listed as still DQ'd for by-passing the scales/tech. I told them I had already been DQ'd so why would I sit in line etc. By that time the class was running and it was too late to get me back in the ladder. Tech apologized and AMA has offered to pay my next entry fees but I still missed the chance to go further in Memphis. It looks like I may make the trip to Bristol, TN in June.

yea im tryin 2 post pics of the bike i was playin with a gszr 1000 at about 170 mph when i saw a cop i tried slowin down but the bike got away i m happy 2 be alive with no helmet no injury 2 my head just my legs and right arm thanks 2 my icon leather
