Lowering links folded today. Sent me straight up in the air and bike went sliding. Luckily, I was pulling away from stop sign and in 1st gear...got some scrapes and sore as hell...bike suffered about the same. Hate to imagine the outcome if I had been in 3rd or 4th.

Turns out Spencer Cycle lowering link just folded. See pics.

Any advice on what I should do?

What all Americans do :whistling:

Hire a lawyer or at least consult with one :smoke: The first consultation is usually free. I wouldn't touch the bike until the lawyer clears it if you go this route.

Glad it was low speed and you're alright. Sorry about the ride.

Holy crap man! Is this something that is known to happen? Cause that just gave me chills thinking if my roarin toyz links were to ever do the same thing. but glad it was a lower speed and your safe man. But something with that just isnt right and im no expert but maybe a lawyer or atleast seeing what one thinks could be a good idea cause parts like that shouldnt just bend in half. atleast i hope not. but goood luck man. let us know how it goes for you

I'm no lawyer!!!

Get legal advice if possible,or write a nice letter to the company via email, when doing this try not to swear or be a drama queen, just be firm and describe the damage that was caused, personal injury and how it happened ( Not a history, brief and to the point.).

Use the word "remedy" when you want to ask "what are you going to do about this." example "I'm hoping that you will be able come up with a reasonable remedy for this issue."
By implying this word "Remedy" you are not sounding like your "Blackmailling" or "Exstorting" you are kindly asking them to provide "Solutions" to the problem.

Dont call them!!! Email is documentation that a lawyer will need if you go to one later.

I do recommend seeing a lawyer, I dont know your Federal or State legalities.

Keep us posted and GOOD LUCK

Holy crap! :surprise: There is definitely a design or machining issue with those links to have them bend the same way at the same time. I agree with D&G, contact the company that you got them from and ask for answers.

I second this question. Theres gotta be something wrong with either the material used or workmanship on those links.

Sorry to hear about this but its good that you are mostly ok.

Are you running an extended swing arm? If so I'm thinking that the added leverage from the extention would cause extra stress on the links...
