I finally made it to the other shop today....after the other shop installed my new thermostat and went to put the engine ice back in they noticed "flakes" of alluminum? Any ideas?
After bleeding it it still overheated?
So I got it to the PowerSports shop and they found another problem......turning my handle bar to the left my busa idles real high....to the right it slows down? Very weird? They said my throttle cables may be sticking. :? :? :?
Hopefully they will get this Overheating problem taken care of though! :thumb:

I have 2 Gen 1 Busas and they both have aluminium flakes settled in the bottom of the puke tank.

As for the idle issue, do yoy have heli bars? If so you may need to re-route the choke cable...they are a bit short.

Good luck

This sounds stupid but it worked for me.
After installing a new radiator that was damaged by road debris my temp gauge was going wild. I bleeded the cooling system as per service manual but it was still fluctuating wildly from normal to way hot in the span of seconds. I also thought T-stat problem. Radiator and reservoir were at normal levels.
I took the bike out again and did some slow and fast left and right manuevers and the problem went away for ever. There must of been a huge air bubble in cooling system and the rocking back and forth took care of it. I then checked coolant and corrected level for last time.

I have an 06 Busa and it did the coolant puke show at bike week in Galveston Texas. After I shut it off it complained about restarting. I let it set a few hours and refilled the overflow with bottled water. Ran fine on the way home. No traffic and much cooler outside. I have since added a 2nd Gen II fan on the right side. I also noticed the previous owner may of used straight coolant..not a good idea. I warmed the bike up with the cap off the radiator. Capped it and leaned it left and right at a high idle. Uncapped and let it burp again. I have wrapped the IAT sensor with thermal wrap to keep the heat soak off. Too much trouble to relocate. The relocate would only place it above the radiator. My fans kick on at mid gauge and now with the 2nd fan they kick off quicker. I did wire the fan parallel with the factory fan and increased the fuse to 20 amp.
