Okay so I found out from the Suzuki Shop today that they finished flushing my bike filled with Engine Ice, Burped the system and took it for a spin and even on a cool morning it still overheated?
They said they are going to swap out the thermostat even though it appeared to open while checking it, they said it may not be opening all the way and at the right times? Very good possibility?
Another rider on here suggested that the sensor is in a very hot spot and that makes alot of sense too.......is that as simple as relocating that sensor? I'm waiting to hear back from him still (sorry I'm a little impatient)
This is becoming very frustrating, the weather is beautiful around here and I can't ride my bike????
Alot of people say they just overheat and accept it????? My bike never used to overheat and it never did it last summer at all???? So I'm with the other % that say it's just a myth..........
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it interesting that they managed to burp your bike properly with what they think is a partially closed thermostat? It would have had issues in my opinion when flushing and filling the system there at the dealership. It would have overheated in their garage if they tested it properly considering they where aware of the problem? ( FN dealerships!! )

There is a possiblity that the sensor or the gauge is faulty , ITS NOT COMMON in fact rare or next till nil, but it is a possiblity.

To bad I could come by and help you!!

Keep us informed or me, I'll try and call my buddy at the Suzuki dealership near me tomorrow if he is in or monday. He's the only person I'll have touch mine and my wifes Busa's.

I'm curious at to what you mean by "overheating"? With the bike running & not moving, like parked in a shop .....or sitting in alot of traffic.....it is normal for it to run a little over half way to 3/4 up the temp. gauge & for the fan to start howling. But if it is on the move.....none of that should be happening.

What he said.

if the sensor gets too hot it will lean out the A/F ratio heating the motor further.

If it happens when the bike is running on the highway on a cool day the thermostat could be a problem.

I find it odd due to the fact when I switched to Engine Ice, it could be 90 degrees out parked or in traffic and my gauge would only go to about 5/8th max and the fan intermitently coming on! In my opinion the dealership should seen a problem there NOT the customer getting back the same problem that should have already been delt with on to find out it still exists. The remedies are simple and easy to fix, its just time consuming.

When I was flushing the system ( I had to flush it 4 times !! to get all the old coolant out completely), I didnt shut off the bike till I got to running temp (1/2+) and reving the throttle to increase flow to ensure the thermostat was fully open to flush properly, this also included watching with the cap open to see the flow as I'm reving.

Check that your waterpump is actually pumping coolant,,possible the impeller is spinning on the shaft or the impeller is toast,,Also check all your hoses and the rad for blockage,,

What sucks is everybody on here seems to know alot more than the dealership!!!!!!!! And it's even worse that nobody is even around to help me LOL! I appreciate everybodys insights though, all I can do is pass on the information to the mechanics and hopefully they can get it fixed!

It is actually really overheating......like going all the way up the "H" even after the fan kicks on!

Okay this is interesting.......I did some checking around in the surrounding areas at other Suzuki shops. They said for my bike to be overheating my timing or ICU(I think) may be be off. And that if I switched to an aftermarket exhaust without reprogramming or remapping it could cause the overheating also. I did about a month ago switch to a 4-2-1 Yoshi pipe. Could the timing or this exhaust mod be the fix?

It would contribute to the problem, and if you where running a 4-2-1 without fuel management :rant: shame on you!! PC III go get one!

I'm taking my bike to a new shop this week and getting the PC III put on and remapping my bike right after a new thermostat gets put in......they're not completely sure if the other one is completely malfunctioning but it's not that expensive so I figured I would go ahead and do it to be on the safe side. I was going to get the PC III soon I just didn't know it could cause my bike to overheat
That's why I leave the work to the mechanics and I just ride LOL!
Hoping this works!!!!!!!!!!

It would contribute to the problem

I doubt it's the root cause of the problem though....
