I really hope somebody can help me with this.........My bike has been to the Suzuki Dealership about 3 times for this issue. The last time I went they said I had a bad fan connection. Well today while riding, I had to slow down (going through the mall P/L), I noticed my bike overheating then and the fan seemed to be kicking on fine but the Temp was still climbing? I shut the bike off to let it cool down, came out of the mall 30 Min later and it wouldn't start up? It was still around the half mark or a little above it. So I waited another 30 min and the temp went down to below the half mark and it still wouldn't start up? I've had this happen before and when I keep trying to start it the battery gets drained? This time I "popped" it off going down a hill just to get it started, road home on the highway to get plenty of air, when I got home I cut it off and it started right back up? Does anybody know why this is happening? It's not good if I go somewhere or ride around town and get stranded all the time? :head meets wall::head meets wall::head meets wall::head meets wall::head meets wall::head meets wall::head meets wall::head meets wall:
PS As I've been reading through the forum everybody seems to say that burping will solve the issue? Is this really that simple of a problem? What about the not starting back up after I cut it off when it got hot? Is that a safety mechanism that won't allow a hot engine to start?

Thanks for reading through the forum, so now I dont have to repeat myself.LOL
Yes its that simple! Try on a regular basis to keep an eye on the fluid level in the resovoir and top it when needed to avoid re burping the system. We tend to forget that even if you over fill the resovoir the system will blow it out. Messy, but ensures the correct level is maintained.
When was the last time you changed your coolant? I reccomemd switching to Engine Ice, what a difference. The only pain was ensuring that the old coolant was completely remove ( I flushed the engine 4 times to get it all out.) Its a different glychol so it can mix with your regular coolant. ( thats why you have to flush it all out.)
For the no power thing, I dont know. Sorry.

The Gen I Busa is known for overheating. Many mods out there for this issue. Thermostat relocation, muzzy fan, dual fan set ups. The Gen II comes with the dual fan setup and I'm sure the boys at zuki did a few more things to fix this issue.
Never did anything to the coolant system on my '06, but it went through the roof at bike week in Myrtle Beach and didn't do well in bumper to bumper stop and go traffic on interstates either. I was basically able to avoid these issues after recognizing the issue.
Engine Ice and burping are good ideas as well.

The problem with the bike not starting after being parked with engine hot is the intake air temperature sensor. This sensor soakes up the heat when at standstill.
You come out to start the bike and the ecu incorrectly leans out the fuel mixture because of the intake air temperature sensor. This happens when the bike is parked from 45-60minutes. It will not happen if bike is parked for 5-30 minutes. Unless you do the relocation modification for the intake air temperature sensor this will continue. When this happens to you again don't drain the battery. Just walk away for another half hour and have another beer at the bar. Then go out and restart the bike.
