Rode to work today, a bit cold but not bad. Anyway, I started the bike, let it warm up and took off. 1st gear around 40 mph I hammed it and the rear tire broke loose "sideways" !@%! The bike bumped the rev-limitor. Cold tires and cold road, I knew better. There is also quite a bid of sand and gravel out there, ride safe. Anyone had simular things happen to you on cold tires?

Did you really have to go for that ride knowing what you know?
I'll wait for the rainy season to wash the salt and sand off the road before I go out.

Hooking up great. Had a great ride Sunday, it was a bit chilli and windy; in the 50's :oh yeah:

2 degrees Celcius and bike seemed to hook great after a short 2 min run. Noted a lot of steam from both exhaust after I came back and had her shut down. Also been the first run in more than 4 months.

When it happens it is a little nerve wracking but when you are still upright and riding away it's a rush. I want to learn to do that in a controled way so that it's a full fledged drift. Anybody doing that on their Busa yet?

I would think that "Most" of us are looking to hook up and launch. Breaking traction at speed is a scary experience "believe me". But hey, if drifting a Busa is what you are after, good luck- Ride safe bro-

So back to cold weather rides, I have read many posts about peoples bikes running poor in the cold, hard starting ect-
I have found quite the opposite, my bike runs fantastic in the cold, cold dense air = HP, higher compression ect- Anyway, Its been in the 50's here for daytime highs and I cant help but ride, I leave the house for work early in the morning 25 degree's, freeze my butt off on the ride in and enjoy the higher temps on the way home. What can I say, I just love to ride the bike-
