i just had a life changing experience, almost came off my bike today i just got back home now after being stuck on the springs highway all afternoon. My bikes back wheel exploded at almost 300km/h i tried slowing down and almost lost it, the tyre was mostly off the hub and i was riding on the rim at about 200 i tried to use the brake and the bike went in to a speed wobble i left the brake to stabalise the bike and no luck. Im on my way to church now because there had to be an angel watching me today The damage is huge, the tread came up and smashed the back end all the rear plastic and the lights. the rim is fu@#ed and of course the tyre.... This was the closest ever...... The worse part is the bike is booked in for a power upgrade from the 350hp it already has i wanted 500hp, and a top end of 400km/h, needless to say im having second thoughts LOL..... I was trying to see if i could get to 350km/h today on gps for and upcoming south african land speed record attempt....
All i can say is F$%^^&**((**&^%^%$##@@##$%%%^^^&KKKKKKKK that was close....:surprise::surprise::surprise:

The tyre was a bridgestone BT015 it had 900km (559miles) on it, a guy on a bike behind me says he just saw it spinning at about 250km/h then he said it started to peel away. At the time i was under hard acceleration but even with a turbo on the bike i would not expect this.... thanks guys it really was a close call...

You are one lucky mo-fo! this is what happens when you upgrade engines and don't upgrade the running gear!
my stock busa is fast enough thank you very much!

Bro! Your one F*cked up Dude!! But I love ya !!
Glad your okay! Do you think it was heat stress on the tire.
I would recommend filling the tires with nitrogen to reduce heat and air pressure expansion.:umm:

Good to hear that you are ok!
Thats why I checked my tires everytime before riding my bikes hard. You never know, it's so freaking worth of checking the condition of your tires before riding your bike.
Lucky man!

DOOM, Thanx for the love i think i needed it man...LOL.... I spoke to a few local drag racers here and they follow your train of thought. They also suggest nitrogen filled rubber. But i gotta be honest, im off to the bike shop tomorrow to ask them to put the trainer wheels back on for awhile. Here's a thread most will be scared to anwswer. We should call it "your closest call" before this many years ago i was riding in mid winter weather in London only to be shunted by a bus, i came off and the bastard almost rode over me:head meets wall:. Admittedley it was minus 5 and all ice on the road, but it beat the tube:cheers:
People still ask why, and at the time it was easy, you have a choice! get on the tube like all the other sardines, reading the paper fitting into the normal grind or be a little free and ride a bike.... That easy. For me i take the bike and avoid the bus and tube and a couple rude F#%k's and LIVE A LITTLE....
Besides... people are scared of bikers, i climb off my bike and say what! sh#t happens no joke. On the tube if i where to say what they'll call the anti terror squad....
