Hi,
Now in my next service, I have to change spark plugs. I have a K7 and I don't know if really is better to use IRIDIUM s.p. in this engine.
Do you use it?
I will notice a better idle, more smooth acceleration or something better?
:umm:

Iridium cost it's X3 than standard and it's not sure more long life...

Thanks

I have been thinking the same thing.

I just might do it to try it. The standards are just fine, but I would like to feel the difference for a season.

Since we have variable temperatures in our riding season it would be interesting to try. $$$$$$$ thats what saving your money for! Food or Plugs:confused:

Before you buy the Irridiums try a set of (CR9ek,s). Dual eletrodes.:thumbs up:

I work in a Motorcycle store, I only have in stock standard and iridium.
Possible I will try this time the iridium because I heard a guy talking about more smooth idle and running more fine than standard...

Despite, thanks:cheers:

May be next saturday I will make the service intervale at my Busa.
I posting here my conclusions.

:surprise:Hey Doom, try "brisk" plugs. I have a set in my 07' along with a new bmc race filter, thought i was on a different bike! They are a bit dear mind you...$25 each. Dyno sheets were showing a 3hp gain for gixer 1000 and 5hp gain for the Busa! $100 for 5 extra hp...im in!

They are for sale through "opp racing" or my buddy's shop "Balistic Cycle" 613 476-1800. can hook you up. Just don't tell the wife what you did when she asks...How the hell did you pass my K8 so easily? Drew.

well guys im not an expert...i ride he busa pretty damn hard though..and i went with the iridiums this year..installed myself...engine starts faster...i dont feel any noticeble gain in pull..but spark plugs arent usually enough to feel something noticeable..it does run smoother...thats all i got good luck!!!!...

stock plugs are fine but wont be fine for as long as the dual electrode or iridium ones... the finer the electrode tip (i,e iridium) the stronger and cleaner the spark..so yes itl ignite a tad smoother... the better the plug the less grief it gives your coil packs too as the resistance to jump the gap is less... worn plugs long term are the biggest killer of coil packs.....if you change your standard plugs every service and arent doing track days or riding hard stick to the cheaper ones but if you do a lot of shut to open throttle runs and tracks then its a good idea to go with twin electrode or iridiums... they are smoother and longer lasting.

Hi everybody :thumbs up:

Today I made a 6 hours trip with my new iridium s.p.
At idle I don't see any differente but running really I notice a more smooth and progresive throttle. For example, when changes 1st to 2nd gear or when reduces have a better feeling.
Is not a 50% as I heard someone say, I think could be a 10 or 20% maximum, but if this s.p. have a long life and make the engine to work better, it's fine to me.

The little things like this could improve our bike.
Despite I made all the service intervale oil, filter, new rear tyre, front EBC HH pads -wwwooOOOOOOoowww :mohawk: simply amazing-... but my veredict is:
If you can, try it at least one time and make your own conclusions.

I went for it this winter I'll get to see next spring.

Hi. I don't know how many HP you gain but Iridium work better. The Dual electrode are not better but hey have dual life.

Any extra HP... only better use or longlife.

Very expensive, but last longer. Standard fair on the Gen II. Thinking about autolites vs. NKG next time.

Don't know about the 1st gen. but I believe they are required in the Gen II.:head meets wall:

Iridium plugs guys are the worst plug possible for performance due to the electrical nature of iridium it does not transfer the spark as efficiently and therefore is why it lasts longer but what you guys are after is performance and for performance you want SILVER PLUGS, I run a brisk in my quad, I dont own a hayabusa im just on this forum to get some info about the busa pistons but saw this thread and thought I'd help you guys out. IMO the brisk racing plugs are the best but for performance the iridiums are the worst you could possibly buy.

I disagree, Dont think a plug can increase or decrease power but an iridium plug can provide more efficient spark and more combustion associated with performance and economy, has a higher melting point 8 times more than platium, higher strength, better resistance and will last a lot longer.
