tsukigi cannon full exhaust system

What gains or loss in performance could I expect with this exhaust install with no other modifications. Wouldn't the stock ecu adjust fuel enough to compensate for the increased exhaust flow? I've noticed other forums saying that almost everyone installs a power commander with a special map. I am a novice on this, but was wanting the new exhaust mainly for the appearance. I just don't want to decrease performance or do any damage to engine. Also, if I did go with a power commander, which model works best and are they difficult to install.

If you install an after market exhaust it transforms the Gen2 busa from nasty to just plain evil,it's like your on a different bike,more power and much better handling without that boat anchor exhaust.I picked up 13hp and dropped 40 plus lbs,more hp gain and wieght savings than the Gen1.I went with the Akro Carbon Race with a PC3,the PC5 is available now which is the latest and greatest I guess,power commanders are very easy to install,I personally wouldnt put a pipe on without a PC.I did have mine tuned on the dyno as I have done with my other three I owned,you can plug in a map for your pipe off the Dynojet website which gets you in the ball park,I do that myself till I can get it Dyno tuned, but Dyno tuning is the way to go,even with the map off the website my bike was down 5hp through the midrange and 7hp up top when it hit the Dyno,and I thought it was fast before it hit the dyno.You get your Air/Fuel mixture spot on across the the rev range and it drives like a stocker with much more power,you want to maintain smooth throttle response and thats what tuning gives you.My busa was tuned on a brake dyno which holds the bike at whatever RPM under load for tuning out flat spots,my bike is has no surging anywhere,very smooth.You can go with a bazazz box too,which my friend has on his 08,they have a self tuning mode but I'm not sure if you have to by an extra accessory to use that feature.He did Dyno tune his bike also,he has a Brock Shorty pipe with a Bazazz and I have the Akro with a PC and we run identicle.I personally don't like the Brock shorty pipes,or tsukigi,I think they sound annoying.I just like the look of the hexagonal pipe with the new busa styling,the yosh or the Akro.My friends Yosh made 188hp the same day my Akro made 187hp,they did a good job with new Yosh cause on the Gen1 they didn't make good power.You may say to yourself I don't care about an extra few hp here and there but if your gonna spend all the cash on a pipe and pc than whats the difference if you spend abit more to make full use of the goodies you just purchased,it's a no brainer to me.If you could clone you and your bike,one with dyno tuning and one without,the bike with the tuning would pull away from the other if you were doing roll ons from low rpm garaunteed,its worth the cash and you wont regret it,good luck.

To keep it simple.

Get the Power Commander V (5) to add the exhaust.

With full race cannons on you'll need to readjust the mapping. Yes the GenII can handle most if not all "Slip-ons" but not when it comes to "Full Exhausts".

There has been some misunderstanding when it comes to what the GenII ECU can handle. Well know you know, "Slip-Ons".

By not re-mapping your Busa will run, but back firing and poor full ratio...Bluh,bluh,bluh .... not good for long term.

It would be like like buying a blower for your car and then not butting on the belt to drive all the power, it would be a waste.

I have a Yosh 4-2-1 full system and no PC.
It will pop a bit on deceleration, so my winter purchase this year will be a PC3/5.
As far as the power, there will not be a big difference, you would be lucky to gain 1-2hp from tuning. It is the fuel curves that are important for optimal engine life/performance.

I have the tsukigi cannon on my bike and love it. I have been told that the oval can make more power then the cannon. But I will say brocks
has some good map also. Imo you will need a pc or bazzaz. Are teka box and have the bike tuned.
