You can stiffen up your stock settings or contact Brock for a drag shock/spring, which is not cheap. But I can tell you through experience after almost the same set up and 15k miles and 2 tail lights you will not stop it from hitting. I have a drag shock and weigh 175 but when i launch hard it is still close. I never ever ride anyone since the slightest bump will cause it to hit. The only fix I have seen for this is a Gen 1 tail section conversion but I like the Gen 2 too much so I just fly solo(it's faster that way anyway)

Good advice posted.
Your setup does not lend itself to 2 up ridding. If you have adjustable dog bones then you could raise the rear a notch or two depending on what it requires when the wife wants to ride with you.

I'm about 7" over. Weigh 215 (I'm 6'4" not overweight) and my girl weighs 135 (5'8" not overweight). I have a heavy duty spring.
With dogbones on center hole there was no rub at 8 1/2" extended. with this setup, riding double.
Now that I'm a little shorter in length, I run my bike pretty slammed (now using soupys links). No rub solo, rub with my girlfriend only on a pretty good bump. If I adjust links, no rub.
If the option of losing some weight is there, then I'd suggest that. It frees up a lot of options on the bike. If its just not a possibility, like my situation. Then you just have to spend the coin and go with it.
So, heavy duty spring and adjustable links are pretty much the way to go.

this is the best way to fix it. Looks better and runs faster.

Had the same problem on my '08. I'm 260 lbs and like to ride a passenger every now and then. I have my rear lowered and stretched about 5 inches. Noticed the sag in the back when I rode a friend, tail end would rub against the wheel everytime I hit a bump. Thought I would have to spend a shit load of $$ on a new shock only to learn that its not necessary. Easy fix, I adjusted the preload rings at the top of the suspension. Need a long enough screwdriver and hammer. You'll have to unscrew the top ring counterclockwise first so that you can go to work on the lower ring. Just hammer away until you've tightend the lower ring clockwise about 8 times if I recall. Also very important, once your complete DO NOT forget to screw the top ring back nice and tight. I also set the rebound and compression adjustments on the stiffest setting as well for better handling in turns. Rides perfect now with me and her on the back. It's a little work but nothing major. Good luck man.
