Hey All, my name is Adam, i am new here and new to the bike world.
first off i want to say that i know the dangers of owning and operating such a wicked piece of machinery. with that said, i DO NOT want my first bike to be a Hayabusa.
the reason i am joining this forum is because the Hayabusa is a beautiful bike, even from the factory. the amount of dedication people can put into these bikes seem to always result in a new piece of artwork, and i cannot get enough of it.
the last place i saw creative busas up close and personal was at a DC bike convention in the convention center. i was so amazed with what people can and will do to these bikes and how commonly they are used as an excellent platform. i am always impressed with what people can pull off with craftmanship, paint, and what intricacies can be put into these machines.
every busa owner i have seen at random gas stations up and down the east coast always have creative mods, that unlike the car world (where i currently reside), are not "rice" or disgusting. everything i have seen is unique----and flat out sexy.
i wanted to join a community where i can witness the love people have for these machines and attend bike meets and dive into the world of hayabusas.
i am going to try to be as active as i can on this forum, but again, i am a total "noob" and might say the wrong thing in a thread, and for that i apologize in advance. ill try to use the search bar before asking how many cc's a busa is :)
my current project/ DD is a 350z with some of the standard mods (exhaust, rims, tires, etc.)....and i have her on the bottle with a big shot ;)
anyway, thats me and i hope to be welcomed at least some what nicely into your community. thank you, and i will see you around!

Thank you  i do like to go fast, but not sure i am ready for the power of owning one of these bad toys.
ive been looking into gsxr 600's and from what ive been told, that will be enough to satisfy my need for speed plenty, for a while.
and also....i am NOT that tall of a guy, 5' 4" (its a gymnast thing) qualifies me for the most lowered bike i can find if i want to be able to stand flat footed on any bike. a recent 2008 orange and black hayabusa i sat on was lowered beyond belief and felt so comfortable...until i reached for the handle bars, i was laying down hahaha

dont feel bad im 5foot 7 . there are alot of options out there to change the ergonomics to what fits you ride that 600 for a summer then trade up as you feel comfy, now post some pics of your car

welcome to the site! nice car. my wife is about your height and she rides a 750 gsxr thats lowered about 2 inches, so height is not going to be a problem for you. if you have any questions just ask, even if it does sound dumb, you don't know and thats why your asking rite?
in case you didn't find the answer to your first question

Haha I'm Italian and Colombian, i didn't see an option for two flags, so I go with the country I visited most outside of the US, but yes I'm from Maryland but attend James Madison University in VA.

Thank you for that reassurance! I hope I wouldn't have to do more than a 2 inch drop, people at the bike shops I have been to tell me that any lower and I would start to affect the geometry and handling of the bike, but I do love that slammed look, so low that it's almost scraping, as incnvenient as that is haha
thank you also for the cc's info. I only thought it was 1299, they added 41 more?! Sheesh! 200mph isn't enough huh? ;)
Can you tell me what's something ths community looks down upon or "hates on"?? Is the zx14 the enemy?? I have to know these things!

I can't speak for the board, but I find the pretend to ride, ride to pretend, aszzless and crotchless pants wearing, festooned with skulls, "when you gonna buy a real bike?" asking harley rider to be mildly annoying.
And, as to the 55 year old toothless skank on your passenger seat, please, don't show me your tits.
:oh yeah::oh yeah::oh yeah:

ok so what i have gathered is that some, not all, "Harley riders" are dicks with remarks such as those listed. got it.
this is common in the car world as well as evident in the fun filled Fast and Furious, "domestic beats import, EVERYTIME."- these people exist in my community as well. but hey! im not here to talk cars! i want to learn about bikes!
is there a section on here where there are scheduled busa meets? i want to attend one, ill probably have to put a sign on my car "im just here to learn! dont hate!"
and also, do you all do ride alongs? that might seem like a silly question, but if i cant get a bike this minute, i sure wouldnt mind holding on for the ride (if this is possible, i would probably need to borrow a helmet, but i am thinking about getting one)
im located near a road called 33 west in Harrisonburg, VA which cuts through VA into West Virginia, and the state line is at the top of the moutain. On any given sunday there will be all sorts of motorists on that road tearing it up on both sides. if the inexperienced bikers are up there i can keep up, but when the liter-or-greater bikes are out, with knowledgeable riders, i cant see them around any corner.
anyone know of the route i am talking about? anyone want to take me on it :) :) and scare me just a little bit?
