Push and hold sel button and then turn the ignition switch on
Hold sel button until the selection mode shifts
Three parameters can be adjusted:
lighting mode tap adj ....light bink ,not blink , no light
light brightness tap adj..... button 1-5 times 5 being brightest
Preset engine rpm youll see RPM needle move to 5k-7k what ever was preset at factory and by tapping adj button it will rise in increments of 250rpm
select desired RPM
When set you'll have a small lightning bolt Icon on gauge
Hope this is a bit easier to understand

Glad to Help.
Got a little trick for you if your running an Airshifter and want to set shift RPM's with your stock gauges.
Open back of Gauge pods(few Small Screws) and tap /solder a Small length of wire to anode side of stock shift light bulb anode (-)side will be mark'd with a small triangle on board and follow diagram pretty easy.

Works like a charm :oh yeah: have it done on my 06 1k as well.
Older version bikes equip'd w/shift lights would need re-setting every time you turn'd off bike ...Not the New Gen's

are you guys able to see the shift light well when tucked down? I have heard its in a bad spot. I sell shift lights as well as launch / shift lights that would work great on the 08 busa, tons of guys on 99-07's with them. I can wire my shift lights up for a few extra bucks to do autoshift output like in the diagram on a previous post. See demo of autoshift www.boostbysmith.com/Videos/autoshift.wmv (http://www.boostbysmith.com/Videos/autoshift.wmv)
I also am doing 08 gps mods to derestrict the bike but still allow the gear indicator to function up to 5th gear.

Air Shifter For Now. Thinking Boost For Power Adder In Future. Seems Logical You Could Activate Something With The Shift Light.

Nice stuff, just so no one gets confused the Cathode is the negative side of the LED. Anode is the positive side.

Much better instructions than in he handbook BUSA38.. BUT.
How come you need to ask how to set the shift light?
Doesn't every new busa come with an Owner's handbook?
Maybe if you are living in a foreign country and don't read the language, the book is of no use to you.:umm:
I have found that nearly everything that I've needed to know about the new model is in the book.
However, it is still good to discuss all these issues on the web with other owners to get opinions and variations.
