i was thinking about buying a busa a few months ago but i decided to go to school instead...now i have a little more time to decide on which bike i want to have for a long term investment. im considering a busa or a zx14 for my riding style i like to ride a lot and long distances. I rode on a gixxer 1000 from Pensacola,Florida to Baton Rouge,Louisiana and i dont care for the riding position its painful...so im looking for imput on both of these bikes

The Busa is better then a gixxer for touring, it's a little longer and somewhat more upright position compared to the Gixxer. Can't say how the ZX14 fairs out compared to the Busa, sorry. Many of the guys go with a triple clamp mod and raise the handle bar position which makes a big difference. Also a double bubble wind sheild (higher then stock) helps as well.

Check out this link, this a beautiful example of how someone made a nice super sport touring bike out of the Busa. Real nice!

I'm 46 and I have carpol tunnel in both wrists, I love sport bikes (supersportbikes!) and I live with the pain, as long as I stop for a few minutes every couple of hours I'm ok.

Hope this helps, good luck (by the way....nothing! beats the Busa for super sport!)

Thanks Guido, is that a type of "flap" that goes on the end of the grip that you rest the back of your hand on? I'm gona Google it and check it out. Last year January at a bike show I checked out this booth "Chinese Medicine Man" he was pushing this miracle spray, he sprayed each inside forearm and wrist, he told me have a walk around and to come back and see him. I forgot all about it and left the show. The pain was gone...completely!...for three days. I've got to check this guy out again this January. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again.

i almost hate to say this and will probably get a tongue lashing over it, but my brother has a zx14 and the riding position is better than the busa. Although we went on a 650 mile ride the other day and neither one of us really had any issues with back hurting or anything though. I went with a couple of other goldwing guys and I started out with a backpack. I figured out the backpack was hurting my back and put it in the backseat of the goldwing and after that my back immediately quit hurting and never bothered me again. If you buy a zx14 you need to have some extra money to spend on heating issues though. You'll be changing coolant to Engine Ice and adding a second fan to the radiator at least. The engine has a boot around it to quiet it down and its all tucked in real tight and only has one fan. They tend to run hot in stock form...not good. Go ride each and see what you think though.

 Is there really any choice ??? On a 'Busa forum ??

The Zx14 is a heck of a bike, but I feel the 'Busa does more better !! I know people who rushed out when the zx14 hit our shores and traded back to a 'Busa. But some of them still have the big Kwaka and are loving it. Personally I feel the choice is just that, personal. As far as reliability and performance goes there is not a lot in it.
Do you like the wallish vented sides of the zx or the sleek tapered lines of the aerodynamic 'Busa ?? :whistling:
You will have to ride both, and live with whichever decision you make, always wondering..........
