I have a buddys Busa at my house to try and help him address a problem with valve/piston tapping on a 2000 with a 1363 Piston kit and turbo installed. Now I have not test ridden it yet, but he tells me he thinks the pistons of valve are loose because he's getting a lot of clatter. He asked me to just pull the motor so he could take to a shop for rebuild. I can do that, but I thought I would try to diagnose it a bit before spending the time to pull the motor. Now I understand a turbo will typically work your engine extremely hard and may lead to problems down the road. Since I'm not a sport bike guy (typically Harleys) I thought I would check with the forums to see if anyone had any suggestions for me to look at to address the tapping.

I know this is not a lot to go on so far. I will post additional details as I discover them

Thanks in advance.

Cam timing should be checked, and if pistons were recently installed make sure the the intake side is on the intake side.

Make sure you have the correct gasket for the overbore piston set.
Hopefully the kit came with the correct one. Even a head gasket that is 1mm smaller than the pistons will cause the larger pistons to slam into the head gasket. This is very uncommon but still happens.
