making plate so tire dosn't hit tail light ??

I had a idea to make a kind of skid plate to mount under tail light,so tire dosnt hit tail light on hard launchs.it could be mounted where rear finder was bolted.I was thinking aluminum and smooth edges so not to catch tire.
What do you think drag racers?

Thanks warputer.that's a little much and fugly,but that does give me another idea.I can use my tiger racing fender elim.that I took off to relocate plate to swingarm.all I would have to do is bend it up to protect taillight.
