View Full Version : took off the rear fender on my K9

Today I finally got around to removing the rear fender. I found some relatively thick aluminum sheet, traced a rough outline, got out the jig-saw and started cutting and bending. Chip Foose has nothing to worry about, LOL, but it looks better than the big fender thing and the plate protects the bottom of the light from rocks. The tail light even illuminates the license plate.

I was going to do what I did on my GS1150, which was flip the license plate bracket upside down and move it as high as possible on the fender then trim off the excess fender under the plate. I thought about how much effort that would take and changed my mind, LOL.
