Here's the catch... I have a 1999 Busa that would over heat while in stop and go traffic. Just finished installing a secondary fan, flushed out the remaining coolant and filled it up with engine ice. Now here's the problem, started up and let it run for a period of time. The needle stayed at half way all the time, but the overflow bottle level started rising almost to the point that it reached the opening. I have no clue what so ever of why would it be doing this http://www.hayabusa.org/forum/images/smilies/ikf/banghead.gif Any ideashttp://www.hayabusa.org/forum/images/smilies/ikf/question.gif Oh, and of course the fan didn't turn on because the temp was reading half way but does work.

it probably just needs to get air out....last time I changed my coolant my temp got pretty high before it finally burped itself out.

I agree....I put the engine ice in mine too and it took quite a while to "burp" the air out of the system. Did U run the bike for a bit with the radiator cap off? Watch for the bubbles to rise to the filling port.

Will do the last advise. I will keep you posted.

Thanks.

ya you have air in your cooling system. just open the filling point and run the bike with the cap off. once it gets to operating temp its gonna start bubbling just keep adding coolant until the bubbles stop. keep a rag with u cuz its gonna bubble out. after about 5 minutes at operating temp it should be good then u just put ur cap back on. therewas no need for the extra fan.

good luck.

hi
u got air purge on the aluminium hose where you got the thermostat,on that aluminium hose u got a screw which u can open with a meter wrench of 8 ,u should open it when the engin eis running then close it wait the fan start and stop let the bike 10 minutes then check the level it should be ok
