Has any one had problem with front and rear tires being flat in center about 3". I changed the rear to a dunlop 200 and has about 500 miles on it. I thought it was because of the wider tire but the front one is the same.I'm 6'2" and 240 lbs.woundering if weight has anything to do with it.

My K8 has just ticked over 12,000 kms and the rear tyre has a flat spot similar to what your describing, about 3 inches wide around the whole tyre. The front tyre is fine though. I have had the Bus on a few track days and the outside of the tyre has seen a lil bit of action, but the bulk of my riding is straight open roads.
I have just replaced the rear tyre with what was already on there, in New Zealand they come out with Bridgestone B105's.
To be honest I'm pretty happy with the performance of this tyre, even with the flat spot. And when you think of it, every Busa owner wreaks havoc in 1st, 2nd and maybe 3rd if your happy travelling at around 260 kph, so the rear tyre, even though its lot loosing complete traction with the road, is still leaving a lot of rubber in its wake.
Thumbs up to the Bridgestone, I'm off on a 500km bike rally tommorrow so I will have to behave because the new tyre only went on last night.
If it aint Busa, then bloody get one!!!!!!
Cheers.

Like what Falconer said...lean that girl over, if your chicken strips are the size of chicken breasts you will have a flat spot in the center of your tire :oh yeah:

At your body wieght i would be running the recommended 42/42 psi front and rear cold.Unless you have a reason not to,lower pressures will flatten the centre somewhat.

I here you,but most roads in east Texas are flat & straight. I also race 1/4 mile runs. and the dunlop takes a lot to heat up so it smokes down track. Im putting down 260 hp to rear tire with a 70 shot of nos. I can see why the rear may have a flat spot, but dont understand why the front is flat also.:head meets wall: I do run 42 psi in tires.I will put picts up.

OEM Busa K7 tyres after running 5.500 kms (3450 miles) secondary roads mainly with no much curves (it's evident) running stock presures.
Do you think they still have some of life? If yes, How much? 1.000 Kms? (600 miles)
Rubber is dirty (street dust)

it says a lot of things in there to protect suzuki from lawsuits..it says not to go over 5000 rpm blah blah. they can't tell you to take it to redline the first time you ride it and they can't tell you to run your tires at 28 psi for the same reason. but we ARE talking about a HAYABUSA not a Harley Davidson. there is a good reason to lower the air pressure to 36 psi. you should try it the next time you wanna ride a twisty road at a quiker pace. there is NO denying the bike will handle better and have more grip then at 42psi. and it will be less likely to drop you on your ass on a straight road when they are cold and you get on the gas hard. or if your foot slips off those funny pegs and you goose it by accident because you have installed a throttle rocker:rofl:. you have a Harleybusa that's right i forgot:oh yeah:
The hectoring wiseacre tone to your post is uncalled for.

Another question. With Conti Road Attack tyres, I saw at tech. info from manufacturer the next:
1st. Gen. -- Sport Attack -- 42 psi front/ 42 psi rear (2,9 Kg. both)
2nd. Gen. -- Sport, Race, Road Attack -- 2,5 Kg. front/ 2,9 Kg. rear
See here (http://www.arca.imperator.tk/contipresures.png)
Why Continental recommends low pressure at front tyre if Busa 2nd. Gen. runs with 2,9 (42ps) in both tyres from stock?
I suppose that it is a technical question with this range of tyres, but why not the same in 1st. gen. busa?
Someone knows anything about that?
Thanks

when the weather finally clears up I'll check to lower the air pressure in my tires and give it a try....
