How must improvement can I expect from a dyno tune? I have the 08 busa with a full tsukigi exhaust system. The dealer said I could tune it or not. It run great like it is so how much improvement can I expect. It will cost about 350.00 form the dyno. Is it worth the money.

I was told that a dyno was throwing your money away , because the jetting depends on the climate ,im not sure on this . I have a full two bros system and power commander ,i will like to see what other people think.

do a few more mods then get it dyno'd, it WILL be worth it !

My commander came programmed for my mods but it was running lean on bottom end and felt a little sluglish, also changed my exhaust pipe color. I only paid $95.00 for the dyno PULLS and the bike responds better driving through town. Below 3000 rpms was lean before retuning, top end was left alone it was fine. Plus u will know what power u are putting down at the rear tire if that interests u.
I'd shop around before I gave someone $350.00 to do minor changes, plus it depends on where u plan on keeping the bikes rpms at.
I have an 08 orange/black one with a Two Brothers exhaust along with a BMC Racing air filter and a Power Commander. On the dyno with a 10% load my bike put down 201hp to the rear tire. To me it was peace of mind, cause anyone can make a mistake. For example u get the wrong tune, or in my case bottom end not correct.

$350 is about the average price around here for a full on custom map. It can take a couple of hours, a coupld of gallons of gas and eat up some of your rear tire. A custom map will tweak out some more power but the real benefit is the smoothness of the engine and response at all rpm's and throttle positions. You will get better gas mileage and you will know that your air fuel ratio is spot on healthy.
If your happy with what you have and how it rides then save the $$ for tires. I am guessing you are using a powercommander with some kind of generic map for your exhaust and not running a zero map?

My K8 tsukigi cannon, air filter, pc, with downloaded map from tsukigi.
Imo, I would buy the bazazz unit, and tune the bike yourself. If you have not already purchased the pc? I dont plan getting a custom map.

My bike does not have a powercomander. The dealer installed the exhaust system only. That was my question to the dealer. Is it ok to ride with out a map. He said no problem. I notice the exhaust tip is a little black and some of the other bikes I ride with have a little white around the tip.

My bikes a 99 model its run black at the end cans for years with no probs,Now at 50,000 miles it has pc3, gas flowed , cams and a little bit more ,the pc3 makes so much smoother from the bottom.p.s. it makes about 195bhp. A bike for life.

Yes, you will be fine without a pc. But the bike will not make the
most hp without a pc, or bazazz unit tuned.

Which air filter...?
Otherwise, not a bad gain for essentially no change but tuning....

I have the stock airfilter now. Lee's performance said not to change it. The stock one was good enough. Any openions????

Stock filter is great but I run a Pipercross Race filter from Greg at HPC.

jetting???? what the hell dude....our busa's are fuel injected. Dyno your bike, it will run much better. By run better, I mean that your air to fuel ratios throughout the rpm range will be much more linear.

adding an exhaust leans a bike out...its prolly not gonna hurt your bike, but adding a powercommander and remapping will get those air-to-fuel ratios where they need to be throughout the bikes rpm range.

stock is fine, but a K&N or BMC WILL give you a lil bit more power. It wont be noticeable though...

Lee's performance said they do not need a power commander to dyno tune my bike. My dealer said you can't write over the factory box. Anyone know if this is true.

As of a week or so ago, the K8+ ECU has been hacked. So you can now program the factory ECU and flash it just like from the factory. It's still being testing and fine tuned but the ability is there if you know what you are doing... ;)

if ya have a pcV and get the auto tune add-on with the wideband 02 sensor, i think you wouldnt need to get a dyno tune done as it sets a/f automaticly as you ride.i personally dont have the auto tune yet ,just what iv been reading.

The dealer wants 400.00 for the dyno pull and 380.00 for the power commander. Lee wants 250.00 for the dyno and I don't need a power commander. Who do you think I'm going with?

Jesus man....thats just nuts... I get my bike dynoed for 30 bucks and sometimes for free...lol but then again I'm pretty good friends with the owner of the shop.
