With my blue/gold K8 I was thinking of adding some more gold highlites, but since I have pushed my budjet for now,I was thinking of repainting the silver pieces such as the foot peg brackets and passenge ones also.I was even tinking of doing the levers. But my plan was to use EASTWOOD Gold Cadium paint which I have used with great success on my Car restoration projects such as the brake boosters etc...
Anybody tried this before as I am wondering what type of paint is on the passenger footpeg supports. It apears the front peg brackets are just a polished or anodized alloy. The gold Cadium is almost a perfect match to the wheels so I think its worth a shot.I am not cheap, just frugal.

you are probably in uncharted terrortory , so give it a go , take pictures along the way and then post a thread showing how you did it step by step, even if it doesnt work , do it as someone will see something and may have the solution to the problem .

My recommendation is the paint isn't durable enough and will end up flaking off. You really need to get everything Powder Coated. PC will do it also but it will last a LOT longer....

Kml66,looks pretty good.Have you got a shot of them back on the Bike?I will post some picks once I have done a couple parts. The brake and clutch lever proably will wear of eventually but its worth a try. That dupli colour paint you used is proably one of the best your can use.I may try it if my Eastwood product does not stand up.One thing I like about the Eastwod cadium product is does not have too much gloss which matches my wheels better.

The pics above are not the best quality but the colour matches really close. What should i do with the passenger brackets.I am thinking Gloss black would look the best over the gold again.

Yea KLM666 we will have to see how it stands up.The photo.s do not really show how close the match is to the wheels but italmost looks factory.I think I will paint the rear passnger brackets gloss black as there already is gloss black on the lower fairings.I think too much gold would look a little tacky--TooMuch of a good thing.I plan on doing some small fastners and bolt heads in gold though.
