try running a diamond hone through it first to see if it cleans up
it doesnt look too damaged to be honest

Did I understand that you paid for pistons, but they left the stock ones in???
It just amazes me that some builders prescribe to business practices like that. Its only a matter of time with bikes like this that it comes apart, and the scam is detected. Sure, it may have been caused by something else like a bent rod, but nobody ever gets away with this stuff.
You may get lucky with a hone, but it looks like a small bit of the coating is gone unfortunatly.

very weird even if it was stock pistons its weird that you would scrape the walls like that. id think there was something wrong with the way the mtor was assembled. boost doesnt cause rings to move around or excess pressure against the walls. the boost would have caused the rods to bend or a bad tuned would melted shit. weird situation for sure. so hows your "new" bike?

I worked as a car mech a long time ago and did some rebuilding of some two strokes and I did see that mostly on two strokes when the owner revved up his engine before it was warmed up , cold seize would happen.
I have an ultralight with a Rotax 65 hp engine and the book says NEVER EVER REV UP ENGINE before it has run at least 4 min.
