With the new parity of the CDN dollar $ equal to the USD, I would have thought new bike prices would be on par? doesn't seem to be the case, Correct me if i'm wrong but i am hearing new Busas in the US MSRP $11,000? yet it looks like Canada is starting @ $13,000?:surprise:

correction

suzuki.com
2008 Hayabusa
MSRP: $11,999.00

suzuki.ca
2008 Hayabusa
MSRP: $15,099.00

3099.00$ difference

rumour has it that the MSRP on the bikes will be dropping 20% this year to match the US exchange or alot of people will just go across the border, buy the bike, pay their 6% duties at the border and 14% sales tax in their province and still come out saving about 3000$. Nothings easier then passing a mechanical inspection with a brand new bike off the lot.

:surprise: WOW! I stand corrected, that is just wrong, I will go over the border for the 08 blk and grey. I can see a lot of sales guys getting pissed here ove their sales $ commisions, That is just crazy

Tell them to leave it in the crate and just pop it in a truck, won't cost you more then 200-300$ I've shipped engines to cali and florida in crates weighing 220LBS and it was 220$ and I shipped a huge crate with a motorcycle and a bunch of parts in it to NY and it only cost 375$. That crate was approx 4'x5'x7'

The manufacturer crates are much smaller in dimensions. Hell if you're going down there to make the deal, rent a uhaul truck or take a trailer with you and bringit back yourself.

If you're shipping it, the key is to use a canadian shipper to bring it in since canadian shippers get more business shipping stuff to the US then shipping stuff to canada. If you are shipping to the US, use a US shipper like forward air and you'll save money as well. They give great rates just so that can put something in the truck so the truck doesn't come back empty.

But that's just MSRP, I think they would be letting them roll out of the dealer at around 10 000$ right?

True but you guys are making UK £s as well. And if I'm not mistaken, jobs pay well in the UK so I think when you take that into consideration you guys pay less for bikes then we do when it comes to income vs price

I just saw the first one on Tuesday. The sales guy said 12K even during the off season. They are the highest price dealers in the area though. Wait about a month and see what the others are charging.

$18,490 in Oz converts to
£8,050 UK and
$16,400 US.

Not that this can be represented across the board, local economies and incomes count for a bit.

But short of moving country, what can you do. Get out there and ride:thumbs up:
