Coming from "The fastest color" 2002 blk&blu hayabusa myself I heard that our friend HOS from the UK was building his 2002 with a supercharger:surprise: we hear a lot about Turbos and to finally have a supercharged busa I could not wait to tell you all about it making 230+ HP on the street. Nice job HOS:cheers:

Love to price of this kit, might be a differant option instead of turbo depending on price differance. Also, would like to know what the limit on amount of boost is. If you wanted to could you go to a smaller pulley on the supercharger to raise your boost level to make more power like you can on cars.

Just wondering how it drives on the street or the track,,hows the power delivery?I`ve heard so many different opinions,, but it would be nice to hear from someone who actually rides one,,

Thanks Chief for the thread and reminding me to come and speak here.

Had a lot of interest in my bike as there are very few supercharged road bikes out there.

Its the Rotrex "small" supercharger and is running MAX 234 rwhp at 7psi.
I have 2 x switchable power outputs using the new PC multi point hub and ignition module.
"Economy mode" gives me max 216 rwhp at the flick of a switch on the left hand handlebar.
I guess you could say the bike is a bit of a sleeper.
The build was by Mark Fisher of GH Racing in the UK who is also one of the top ACU drag racers here.

There is a whole lot of work under the tank and behind the plastics.
The full spec is a long list and includes JE Turbo pistons, new cams, new cometic gaskets, Class 1 race fuel pump and regulator, new relocated oil cooler, all new big bore fuel lines, custom alloy plenum chamber, clutch mods and HD springs, lots of PC hardware, new wiring, new plumbing, reworked header pipes and last but not least .......2 days solid on BigCC Racings dyno !

This bike is RIGHT. 100% RIGHT !
Sean at BigCC is the turbo man in the UK. He was mightily impressed with this bike.

How does 234 rwhp supercharged Busa feel on the road ???
Well..... its... ULTRA SMOOTH POWER DELIVERY FROM AS LOW AS 2000 rpm and heaps of it. Smoooooth fluid power. So smooth I best describe it as chocolaty !
Its feels lithe and muscular. Heady and yet usable power.
The bike feels like its allways accelerating, allways moving forward in the most positive way. Think fast .... it goes fast.
Extremely fluid and rideable.
No coughing, no fuelling glitches, no spitting, no hesitancy, no misfires.... just raw power.
This is no rookie bike mind you, no sir. Its so deceptivley fast and powerful it will catch out the unwary.
The bike rides better than stock... a lot better.
It rides much better than a piped and chipped Busa.

This is my 5th Busa and I`ve been riding bikes for the last 37 years.

The next phase of improvements are well under way.... photos to follow shortly....

Have a great Christmas all !!!!

The power limit on boost with the smaller blower is about 350 bhp, the larger Rotrex unit Mark is using makes well over 500 bhp.

Cost of this intall to me in UK Sterling was around £4000 incl parts.

Man, finally someone I can talk to about this! I was debating goign supercharger last year before I oversized my motor to a 1397 and couldnt' find anyone who could give me some input. All I heard was huff and puff from turbo owners about no tech support and all that.

I wanted to run a small blower and make aroun 250HP but 235 is plenty!

Can you just bolt that kit on with a stock motor with lowered compression(base gasket) and stock cams with adjustable gears?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post some more pics of that bad boy. I wanna see it up close and personal:)

Be very interested in more reports and photos on this set-up. Like Mimic said not alot of reports or support here in North America for supercharger set-ups.

Hey HOS, it looks like you're feeding the boost pipe from the supercharger into the ram ait duct. How is the inside of the duct modified from the boost pushing both ways? Do you have it feeding straight into the ram air hole in the frame? Can't tell by the pic. Just looks like you got the plenum sealed to the frame and the boost pipe into the ram air duct. I know this isn't the case but can you tell me what I can't see? I like how stock it looks in general (except for the meat grinder on the side lol)

I'm not about looking stock so I can dig a giant meat grinder on the side of the bike:)

Thank you for your interest.

Yes its a T-connection, the one side is the alloy plenum chamber, the other is the cooler bottle / intercooler for the hot air from the blower. You can just about make out the ribbed sides of the cooler ?
The "ram air" duct is just a duct for the pressurised air to the plenum chamber.
There is no air from the front air intakes. The cooler bottle is actually IN the air intake to get cooling air to it. On the other side the ram air intake is redundant.

The bike is subtle looking.
But jeeezz when your stopped at the gas station or at the traffic lights, the attention it gets is unreal !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just ordinary people come over to point at the pulleys and ask " what the hell is that ?!! ".
Cars full of people are straining their necks to try and see what the meat grinder is...
Its loud as well !!!
Keeping it below 2 or 3000 rpm is only moderately noisey, but when you get on the throttle it sounds pure evil !!!!!!!!
Nothing quite like the sound of a supercharger on a bike.

The bike is firstly a road bike and a maybe RWYB drag racer next year, but first and foremost its been built as a road bike.
It isnt easy to build road bikes like this ! Drag bikes with blowers are well advanced, but the concept of building a reliable road bike took a lot of thought and carefull consideration.
I spent a lot of time hands on at Mr Fishers unit and even worked on my own bike with him, which was brilliant.
It was an evolving design and an evolving specification as we went along.

Take a look at the Dyno chart from BigCC racings dyno in England ?
Hows that for linear power and torque ??????

Twin fuel maps for "economy mode" : 216 rwhp and
"Full Power mode" : 234 rwhp. Via a rocker switch on the bars, which you can flick while riding.

I would like to take this moment to say how much I hate you right now HOS!

I have my 1397 busa for sale and decided to stop riding for a bit and thought I had laid this whole supercharger/turbo madness to rest with my decision and now I'm online looking for another busa to buy to supercharge!

I HATE YOU!!!! and I envy you too LOL

I really like the 02 paint scheme too. I think it would out of this world on a black frame and arm!

I'm gonna try and see if I can find a buyer for my 1397 motor or the whole bike and with that money I'm gonna buy the supercharger kit and another busa to supercharge I think:)

There's a video on youtube of a supercharged busa. I know what you mean by it sounds evil! lol

Hey HOS, what compression are you running with the turbo pistons you have in there?
