I have a 2007 Busa with stock internals. I want to install a turbo kit. I'd like to have incredible reliablility. It will be used for street riding almost 100% of the time. It has the stock wheelbase. I want to run on pump gas only. I will not be modifying the internals. I have several questions.
1. Brand preference?
2. Any kits that don't require cutting plastics?
3. Do those exhaust pipes that exit through the fairing mess up the paint?
4. Any experience with the kits that retain full exhaust?
5. What's a realistic amount of time I should allow myself for the installation?
6. How much HP should I expect with a mild build?
I have a turbo race car, so I have experience with turbo systems and fabrication. I'd like to keep this simple and reliable above all else. Thanks in advance for your time and opinions.

Heads Up Performance - Call Scott Horner.

He can put together a ~300hp completely reliable/streetable streetbike kit for you. He built the engine for my record holding Production Busa.

Thanks! I'll check out the site and give him a call if I'm interested.

Give Richard a call. These guys are amazing and very knowledgable. I will be getting my stuff from these guys. The bikes that run his kits are all in the top 10 in drags, at least here in the great white north.

Hi Sean, Ive had bad luck with the turbo pipes comming through the fairing, burt my paint job:surprise:but some of the guys on this site managed to give me some good advice, they suggested that the pipes clear the fairing by atleast 2 inches and that i have them ceramic coated... Also we went with a heat shield inside the fairing..... All of these worked well and ive had no more problems since....On another note my engine builder says that if you go with a kit and retain a full exhaust you gonna lose serious horse power, something to do with to much back pressure slowing down the turbine......

on a low hp application ( mid 250 's ) the difference between a dump pipe setup and a full pipe would be hardly noticeable. keep in mind the full pipes (rcc) are a full 2.5 inch .
trimming the back side of the fairing (behind the dump pipe) before running would probably help in the paint department.
