This is a piece of cake, and takes just minutes to do.

First, remove those gay-ass red reflectors off the rear of your Busa. Take the reflector brackets themselves, and affix them to the two rearmost bolt holes (where your stock rear fender used to reside!) :oh yeah: Use the same phillips-head fasteners that were retaining the brackets in these bolts holes, not the shouldered hex-head bolts the fender was using.

Like this:

While it looks encouraging at first, it is quickly apparent that the existing holes aren't going to line up for the typical North American license plate. :head meets wall:

No worries... just place your plate up there, and use a permanent marker to mark where you need to drill two holes, and drill away.

Volia! Instant fender eliminator license plate bracket! :thumbs up:

All this for just a few minutes of drilling! :smoke:

You will find that you want to bend the brackets "upward" so that the plate sits at an angle, vice perpendicular to the ground.

For those of you worrying about The Man hassling your for a license plate light.... you can score yourself some LED light license-plate bolts, and use the original 2-wire connector for the stock license plate light to power them.

If you are doing the Mod in AUSTRALIA , you will need to find somewhere to mount the reflector somewhere or the coppers can put you off the road, the reflector on the rear is part of the roadworthy requireme

great mod warchild .

Mine has been like this for over a year now, and I still don't have lights on my plate.

Still haven't been hassled by the man.

I tried this one and it went great. I turned the reflector brackets inward and used the stock license plate bar. Also used an LED to light it up ($20).

Also installed the SW MOTECH GPS mount. Very well designed/constructed. $50, definitely recommended.

Thanks for the tip Warchild:cheers:

I inverted the brackets to mount the plate a little farther under the tail. Thanks for the how to. I had to go fish the reflectors out of the garage can though. Doh!

either i suck really bad or suzuki did something to the 2011 rear reflector bolts.... one seems to have a retainer on the inside shank side that wont let me pull the bolt from the body and the other just spins and spins...

i don't have a gen II but i'm assuming there is a nut on the back side that should be accessible from your trunk or under your front seat?

the easiest way to get them is take the bolt at the front of the rear out an a bunch of the push tabs thats how i got to mine to remove reflectors and make nos bottle mount
