I'm seriously thinking buying an HMF high mount system for my 06. I've heard that there have been issues with the pipe hitting the swing arm and some say the install is impossible on one lowered. :confused:My 06 is lowered 1 inch on the front and 2 on the rear. The system looks tight and I was wondering what other problems folks are having.:umm: Any input would be great.

Thanks:cheers:

Fitment issues i have heard the same thing with headers/collector/mid pipe/ fitment hitting engine clearance etc.....

were you looking for a dual high mount system?

I really like the look of the high mount exhaust. I may have found a used system for 600 bucks. What do you run for an exhaust or what would you suggest (i know...how long is a string). I don't want to hack up any plastic for an install, but I can make brackets and bend steel.:oh yeah:

Check out the link for all the exhaust videos Pipe has run.
One of them is the High mounts.

Pipe had the left midpipe hit his swingarm brace once while he was lowered.
But then marked the pipe where it would hit, took the midpipe off and hit it with a rubber mallet until it was dented it in a little bit. Never had anymore issues.

No issue on mine. Had it in stock HMF form for 5 months before I modded them. The bike was air-ride and still had NO issue with any rubbing.....you have to bully them in place as you do the install. great exhaust and sound is incredable. Here is a pic of it air slammed before the exhaust mod and bid fatty.

you just need the right HMF mechanic to do it...or have the HMF rep school you on install.:oh yeah:

I have one for sale in the classified section. It's new and only 850.00 shipped to lower 48. I currently have the same pipe with C/F cans on my '07. I was a bitch to install, but nothing you can't do with an afternoon and some patience. Tolerances are close but doable. I love my pipe!!!!!!!!!
