Black smoke normal after mod???

Hello anybody,

I just did the drill mod(9 1/2" holes in the front and rear baffle plates) to the stock exhaust on my 06. I love the fact that it sounds better, however, I notice more black smoke when revving. Is this normal? Could this just be material burn off from the drilling? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the welcome and I was just a lil concerned since I really only found one person who had done this mod. I'm sure there have been others, I just wasn't able to find any detailed info on it. This mod doesn't require any mapping I hope?
