Very easy install. Put them on yesterday and I have already had several compliments. My neighbor who rides a 07 R1, says it sounds like a Ferrari Enzo. I dont know about that, but it sounds loud and mean.
I am riding with a pretty big group tomorrow, so we will see if I annoy them with the sound. I like it. I do need to do the pair valve mod.
Here are some pics.

I have seen these several times on our forums but I am dying to hear them is it to the point that you will get pulled over all the time because of the db's.

It has a nice rumble at idle, but most harleys are louder. It only gets really loud up in the RPM's. I haven't had any problems from cops, and i have even asked them about it.

Nice, I get mine today hopefully, for my Black 08. I originally just wanted to lose the weight off the rear and save for a set of R77 slip ons. but who knows. They might fit the bill...:oh yeah:
Goodness those stock mufflers are So stinking heavy...:surprise:

I was in a similar situation. I wanted brocks, but it just wasn't in the budget. I still may change down the road, but it definitely satisfied my want for exhaust.

I wish somebody would make a straight pipe kit with the vance/hines insulation, like the kits for the R1 and ZX-10R, man they sound so good.

When I get mine on I am planning on taking a vidoe of them, My little 8mp Canon actualy shoots a decent video, found out at Talladega, lol... :oh yeah:
I am going to put the camera on a little tripod and run them down the road so you can hear them going away and coming back towards the camera. Then post it on youtube...
Should be pretty cool as I wish all exhaust companies would do this, I wanna hear them accelerating away from me and when they pass by...

I've been really looking at doing a set of these.. How loud are they compared to the open midpipe? I put some chrome tips on my midpipe and rode around like that, but it was just TOO loud for traffic, I felt like a jackass because even with the bike at idle it was intrudingly loud.

I dont have the hotbodies ones, i have some very similar to it.
Its almost like running open mid-pipes, i think it has a bit better tone. Mine came with baffles, but i took them out as soon as i started it up. It made it sound like shit.
I have gotten compliments about how "evil" the bike sounds from everyone who has heard it. I dont think its annoying loud. I think it has a nice deep hum going down the road, and only gets really loud when you get up into the RPM's.

hi everybody
I like it midpipe hotbodies, but i wonder , what the power do ? gain or loose some HP?

So I test fitted mine last night, and wow, they are snug... I am going to try again after work today but may need some WD-40 on them and a rubber mallet to help them go on.
How close is your shifter rubber boot to the pipe, and your kickstand...

-Yes they fit on a euro busa.
-No they're not too hot at the foot.
-Not much power gain.
-Big weight savings!

Here is another pic.:oh yeah:http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn478/busatoy/IMG_6963.jpg So far I put in 2300 miles and after hotbodies exhaust installed the bike acts different. At low speed don't really notice much except for the noise but at high speed it's little quicker. I love the sound! it's almost sound similar to my lt1 firebird.

OK, I got mine on last night, and went to church and then out to dinner with a bunch of other singles, :oh yeah:
Wow, Wow, and Wow...This exhaust is loud but everbody loves it...AlsoI wear head phones usually, so idleing around on the freeway and in town is not bad at all, I mean very liveable indeed.
I swear the bike has a little less torque on the low end, but Holy Smokes will she open up and roar... Sounds amazing...
I will get a few little videos this weekend and put them on youtube for you guys...
BTW, A little @WD-40 and a rubber mallet help a lot on the install, i also had to adjust my shift lever a little so that when the selector is ready to be moved ot doean't touch the pipe. When you push dhwon on it, it will touch the pipe a little but it's the rubber boot over the connection that touches...

I have the Hotbodies slashcut installed... I do get popping/backfire when decelerating from RPMs higher than 5,000. I love the sound of the pipes but I haven't read anything that tells me the popping a bad thing. The sound does not sound like a sick engine but more like a MotoGP racer... :ozzy_head_bang:

I rode with 22 other bikes this weekend and everybody was Envious of the sound. True Big Bore sound over the litres and below. It literally sounds like a Ferrari Enzo when opened up. Real throaty, raw and screams like a banshee.
No problems with the cops here. The other good thing about these Slash Cuts are; everyone hears you coming and going. Alerts cagers that there is something mean in the jungle and to be on the look out.
Install: I did not need any WD-40. They are a tight fit, but they go on with back and forth manipulation. The Kickstand will rub on the pipe and the rubber around the bottom of the shifter does not melt.
I noticed that between 500-3000rpm, its a little rich, but once you hit that 4000rpm range; hold the fuck on. You need clearance from NASA. The bike is fast with the stock cans and even though the HB exhaust has no gains, it feels like you are on a rocket destined for the outer atmosphere.
A PCIII may help with the fuel mixture, but it really is a miniscule difference in the low powerband.
Pair Valve Mod- I did the pair valve mod and I no longer have backfire(popping) off the high revs. I actually liked the small popitta-poppita-pup-pu-pup-pop.
For $250 you dont get any gain in HP, but you lose a ton of weight from the stock cans (immediate noticeable difference), a GP style look with out those obese cans. What you get is one mean sounding Bitch and total satisfaction that you are the baddest Mutha Fucka on the streets.
The Busa is the Ferrari Enzo Flagship of motorcycles. It just says Suzuki on it thats all!

Suzuki 2008 HAYABUSA Dual Slash Cut Megaphone Slip-On (hotbodies)
This Undertail Exhaust kit is precision-made for exacting fit and flow. The slip-on routes into the tail section where the canister sits behind our SBK-styled Undertail. Our system quadruples performance: better aerodynamics, exhausting into negative pressure reduces drag, lighter weight slip-on, and improved breathing for increased power.
The system's ceramic coating keeps heat inside for faster moving gases, increasing power, reducing radiant heat and it doesn't discolor. A high-temp heat shield adds comfort. We designed this kits with a unique sound of performance and speed, with a gain of 4-6 horsepower, and by adding a Power Commander, you can get as much as a 10 hp gain!

I'm seriously considering getting these as it seems to be a no brainer when most other systems will run me about a grand. I just want a simple bolt-on system and these look, well...simple! Anybody run into any problems with the foot brake or the shifter. I'm asking because I have big ass feet and need the room. Also, if someone could host a video of these things running so I can talk myself out of an R77 that would be priceless. Thanks! Timmaayy!!

I wear a size 15 bro, I have these pipes on but sent my seats to Tobin to redo. I won't be riding for a few days and the rain we have had here is crazy.
After that I will video them and put it on youtube...
Anyway, i adjusted my foot brake down to be more comfortable and left it alone. I had to adjust my shifter back up a tad to that when you are waiting to shift the boot was not touching the left side tip. I haven't seen or felt any problems and love my tips. At 260.00 I am amazed at the sound and the top end power will have you smiling like a little school boy with now new BB gun,:oh yeah:

I think that I am going to buy them. I was just talking to a co-worker about them (he owns a zx-14) and was riding my ass telling me that it is going to take away from the torque due to the fact that there is no back pressure. F*ck 'em...I'm puttin' them on! I would still love to see your video clip of them as it will take a week or so for me toget them. Installing them seems relatively straight forward. Thanks for your description of the sound. I think that was the icing on the cake.

I have been thinking of getting this tips. I worry they may cause engine damage in the long term or at least on long trips which I favour.
Has anyone got long term experience with them, especially without PCIII.....

Mine arrived today and the install was pretty easy. I like the fact that it is loud and looks pretty nice. The only thing that bothers me is the kickstand and that it rests on the side of the exhaust. To prevent it from smacking against the side of the exhaust when I kick the kickstand up, I have to actually lift it by hand and pull it outward to make sure the kickstand switch is completely closed. Then it rests against the polished part. A picture on 58cycles, shows the end of the stand sitting in the bell of the exhaust. I really don't see how that's possible, even with moving the exhaust to different angles.
Anyone been able to remedy this? I've been wondering how difficult it'd be to bend my kickstand out a tad after heating it up real good.

it seems that hotbodies give 2-3 Hp to the Busa ; but to be sure , best thing is to pass on thr same dyno with the same technician , with and without ....
but some thing i really wonder , gen 1 hayabusa was 175cv at crank and 153=>loose 22hp to the wheel , gen 2 is 197 at crank and 167 at wheel=>lose 30hp , how comes ?perhasps gen 2 have not the power suzuki claimed ...sombody knows? do i a mistake ?

I put mine on about a week and a half ago. It took a little getting used to when it came to putting up the kickstand but after making a mental note of it I now just lift it half way up then use my left heel to slowly lift it the rest of the way up to let it gently rest against the pipe. I'm sure there is some kind of heat resistant sticky tape that can be put on the underside to keep it from getting scratched up. I'm not too concerned about it though.

Hey Dude I've my Hotbodie Megs on for about 4000 miles on my 08 Busa and i must admit that i lose alot of low end power. I've also heard that they burn up our valves. I am no tech just relaying what i was told. On the plus side i also love the deep sound.

Has anyone else heard this or know of any substantial reason to be worried about this? I too, have been considering these pipes... but I don't think they'd be worth it if they'll damage internal parts of the engine.
