Hello and Welcome, Do you know how many cc's you want to go? 1363, 1397 and up? do you want to do street riding or drag? Nukedog who is a global moderator here @ BusaNation has a lot of experience in this area. I will PM him, I am sure he will be able to help you out and point you in the right direction. We also have Richard from R.C.C Turbos here who makes kick azz turbo systems for your busa.:thumbs up:

I also run a 1397. What are you looking for exactly? I wouldn't bother with a 1363 since you're already there and changing out the block. The cost is the same for either block and there isn't much difference in terms of heat. Use a muzzy fan for extra cooling and you're good to go:thumbs up:
You have a multitude of options in terms of parts and it all depends on what your goals are. You can make anywhere from low 190s to low 220s on motor alone with a properly built and tuned 1397.
Tell me what you want and I'll try to tell you what you need

Mimic has a good start on this thread...
Most 1397's hover in the 200 to 210 range with a good tune but more and less is there based on ported or not head and of course camshaft combo's as well.
I have had a 1397 and now have destroyed a 1507 :oh yeah: so i can help with advice as well...

Yup, bigger cams and higher compression = more power. I'm running a .378 web cam on the intake and a stock intake on the exhaust with Ti retainers and 53# valve springs and 12.8:1 off the shelf JE pistons. Head is stock and I'm making about 196 RWHP.
Got a friend running .385/.378 with a ported head running 210 and he runs 225 on his other busa with even bigger cams .425/.415 I think with ported head and 13.5:1 compression if I'm not mistaken.

Say how's about a new thread with people that have done Big bore kits and what they did and what they got out of it..
ex. 1397, type of pistons yadda yadda yadda.. did this that and the other, this cam that headwork.. or no head work.. blah blah blah..
THIS is my horsepower ... oh yeah and my 2nd mortgage for doing it is only.. THIS amount..
That way if I wanted 200HP I could go with Joe blows kit and get roughly the same thing.... roughly...
Thanks
JOe

as long as you have a proper tune on it yes you should be prety close with the same setup. But if your tne is way off, so is your HP. For example, my bike only makes 182HP on the dyno with 103# of torque, but I used an LM-1 data logger to tune it with real time air intake and ram air so my bike runs 13:1 AFR with the data logger on the street but runs 12:1 on the dyno which is too rich robbing me of close to 8% of my HP and torque. Tune has everything to do with it, and Quasar is my one stop shop for tuning :)

Are you going to rebuuild the 1507 Nuke? My baby busa nightmare build is just waiting on some machine work thanks to MJM -Mitch giving me busa cam cap covers instead of the 1ks. I feel for the other screwed client who may be looking for his cam covers...
Cycle Concepts been outstanding to deal with though:thumbs up: looking at 2nd or third week of January to get it back and riding again.
We have to go out and play some again with JR and Turboblew

They all have their own ideas and ways of geting better performance for your 2000, I have the 2000 busa also, I did the 1397cc kit modified the airbox did the DYNOJET DOUBLE UP with PC III and Ignition control and LCD display, I also did a dual wet/dry NOS systems so I can use cheater hook up with both systems and change back and forth, with a Schnitz Progressive Controller. Had my local Import Performance shop Port and polished the head, The charged alot less than any bike shop would had it to match the APE race head titanium setup for about $500 less and well there are alot of guys out there who have done bigger and better but I still lay down 188hp at 5280 ft above sea-level so take out you conversion to sea level charts http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/homixide/Mella010.jpg
