I just got back, the event was rained out both days, i did get the busa off the trailer for 1 run, i ran 10.0 flat, 140 mph, foot shifting, never been on this busa before , i went out quick to get a run before the down pour came, after i came back , droped rear air psi to 25 lbs(street tire) set the k8 shift light for 10.500 rpms, went to go back , but then the RAIN came and didnt stop for 2 days, event has been moved to Sept 7th, @ least i have an idea @ where i was at and where to improve and get that bike into 9,s, im just disapointed with 10.0 flat, but like i said , i got 1 run and my 1st time out on the drag strip in years, im 200lbs, 6ft so, i think i can only get better from 10.0, , i will get a chance to play with gearing 17/45 and get a Shinko on the rear, i like foot shifting but i will look into a shifter. Let the flaming commence

wow im sorry to hear that it got rained out that sucks!!! but great job on you first pass, 10.0 is a good time for the first time on the strip with that bike, and i assume that it was very humid since it started raining right after your pass. You would habe been 9's for sure if you could have got a few more passes in.. May i ask what your 60 foot was? just wondering if you were able to hook up or not? SO are ya going to go to the next one in september???

I am going back on a rain check free entry for Sept 7th, but i was so hyped after my 1st run to go back and re-run it and i know i could have broke into 9's , i was so disapointed on Sat, i thought ok, be back for Sunday:head meets wall::head meets wall:
Dam man, i saw where everyone else was at with their times and i know where i should or could be, maybe im being a little hard on my self for my 1st run right off the trailer to get at least a run in?????
my reaction= .053, 60ft= 1.692(room for huge improvement) * I will change my gearing and get a shinko on, most guys there were not footshifting and running 9.50's, 9.60's so I know with some more track time where the K8 should be and where it can be, this was a rider issue:roll eyes:

a) you had the balls to do it!!!:thumbs up:
b) it was was your first time in years!:thumbs up:
c) you only had one run!:head meets wall:
d) the weather sucked!
e) and I wasnt there to sabatage and the competitors bikes!:whistling:
Bro! You did great in my books!!!:thumbs up:
I saw the weather forcast and I decided not to go, I was checking each morning hoping it would change.
One day I hope to give it a shot just for the experience and to say I tried. That would be good enough for me.

you are being hard on yourself! The first pass is to just get a feel for the bike and the track, That 60 foot is nothing to be ashamed of, acually that is pretty darn good . the guys that are running the 9.5's i bet have raced thier bikes before?? I have no dought that you would have been in the mid nines if you could have got some decent passes in. you really did a good job, and youll only get faster!!!

I agree......10 on your first run is respectable.
Were those two fans in the bleachers rooting for you? Did they start a "wave"?

Thank-you, i saw all the 9.50, 9.60 bikes all ran with air shifters, i was foot shifting and i want to keep foot shifting to run against those guys, A really bad analogy but a dandy would be meeting a hot chick, going back to her place, she then passes out and then you get a major case of blueballz:rofl: it hurts:roll eyes:

You should be able to hit 9.40's with the bike stretched. Those K8's really run!

We did not travel to Grand Bend, weather did not look good. But we did get to race on the weekend in Earlton Northern Ontario. This was my first 1/4 mile track besides the school. I ran a 10.03 the first place, but was pulling 9.63 by the end of the weekend 148mph. Can't wait for Grand Bend In Sept, will be intresting to see what I can run on a track with some prep. Duane nice job with the 10 on a stock bike, we will see you soon.

That is probably the best track I have ever seen. Very professionally run.
I will run mine at the local track, but I will probably shut down at the 1/8th due to the crappy track and minimal shutdown.
I might do Grand Bend next year on the bus.
