It was a hot day but good track conditions, first time at this track - Eagles Canyon Raceway near Dallas, TX and my first time with a Busa at any track (I have only had the K8 since the end of May).

I was really suprised at how well it handled in the corners, I did my best to keep my knee pucks clean and unscraped but I get around the track fast enough.

The bike just flat out hauls WOT coming out of the corners, on the fastest straight heading uphill I was seeing 130 on the speedo before I had to grab the brakes and lean it over for an uphill blind left, it was a blast! :oh yeah:

Sweet, I'm hoping to get back in riding like that, its been about 12 years since my last sport bike so i'm taking things a little slower.

I'm doing my first track day next week :surprise: at a place called Oran Park here in Sydney, Australia.

I'm getting nervous already, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Good to hear you liked the handling gpman, it goes well round the local twisties but I think I'll be pretty tired by the end of the day.

A suspension setup advisor at the track recommended 30PSI in the front and rear tires, stiffened the suspension 3 clicks from hard on the forks and 4 from hard on the lowers, the rear was left at stock setting.

Bike was on rails once you picked your line (still had to avoid the patches in some corners on the track, no fun bouncing over them). Good luck on your track day!:thumbs up:

awesome pics gpman!! i can't wait to do a trackday on the busa!! the k8 really handles great..as long as you dont fill the tank. i find it affects the handling alot..how many laps in your sessions? wait till you try a 55 profile rear!! i just got bridgestone BT-002 race tires and i swear these are the best tires i have ridden on in my life!! i say that with all honesty. they were $320 mounted&balanced and they put the dunlop qualifier to shame!! lasting alot longer too which i didn't expect..try them you will love em..190/55 rear makes it turn in so so sweet. i also put 1 full turn on rear shock preload collar. this has also helped the big girl to drop in more like a race bike and less like a drag bike

Hi Falconer, never counted the number of laps, had five 20 minute sessions through the day and did not have a lap timer, hate to see the checkered flag waving you off the track at the end of the session when your having fun, it always seems too soon!

I will check out the BT-002's race, might be my next set, thanks for the tip.:thumbs up:

lap timer thats what wives and girlfriends and kids that dont ride are for..lol..20 minutes is a good amount of laps.i was wondering if you noticed anything going away at the end of the session or end of the day..brakes tires suspension etc. or were you just getting to know the bike this time out and smiling to much to notice..

My Gixxer K5 thou is my track bike, I just wanted to see how the busa would handle at the track, I was chasing bikes down and passing them starting with the 3d session (after the suspension was dialed in). I would like to know what the other riders were thinking when the "it's not a track bike" busa went by them :oh yeah:

I did get passed by a few of the faster guys on the liter bikes on the brakes into the corners but it was just a few and most riders were already familiar with this track, on my last session no one passed me.

The OEM BT's had good feel and enough grip but I would like a better feel to the brakes pulling the bike down from speed to turn, that will be my next major upgrade.
