I just hooked up to SKYPE
it is making telephone calls through your computer, so you can ring STD etc and it goes on your internet usage.
You dont have to pay for it and its video call as well so you can see each other too. ( in my case you probably dont want to see my rough head ) but its free to down load and all you need is a mike and web cam and your away.

you dont pay anymoney as long as the other person is on skype .

Is any of you blokes on skype ?
If not have a look it may save you big $$ ring freinds and relo's.
ts worth a look at it .

just to clarify this isnt spam , just something I was intoduced to yesterday by my old man and now we ring each on the net etc .

the issues with skype have been around security ..... havent used it in a while coverage was a lot worse, than using voice and video on your yahoo messenger....

I have never used yahoo messemger , but skype allows you to ring mobile , ring STD and oversees at no cost as long as the other person is using skype.

I have msn messenger but it shits me typeing all frigin night when you can talk in real time.

i know the early version had some problem ( like all versions) but its pretty sured up now i am reliably informed by my mates in IT .

you can do voice and video on Yahoo messenger.... it wasnt the early versions that had the problems, as the functionality wasnt there, the routing of calls can mean that the quality can be really poor, lots of folk I know use it, I use alternatives, talk talk worldwide and YIM do me fine

thats where my problem lies with the others .
here in Australia the major search engine is google , the major messenger is msn and so forth , they are generally differant to other countrys .
I have never heard of those other products( talk talk worldwide and YIM) , and I am assuming yahoo is like messenger and takes over you whole computer and wants you to do everything through msn and messanger etc .

thats why I liked this is because its stand alone and doesnt take over my computer , I havent had any problems with quality but i hve a older computer and arent expecting to be like a digital big screen moviue in surround sound.

I remember my dad once telling me about some device that you could talk into and your voice would travel down some wires and another person can hear what you are saying somewhere else in town ... cant remember what it was called though ...
