After installing a TRE, it isn't typically mandatory to alter the fueling as a TRE invokes the fueling (and ignition timing) that's normally provided by 5th gear, which is only a bit richer than when the normal lower gear selections have been made. The fueling isn't drastically changed.
However, what you need to ask yourself is, "Does my engine appear to be running any rougher in certain areas now that the TRE has been installed?" If so, then it's best to alter the fueling in the troublesome area to obtain smoother engine performance. A lot depends upon what fueling your Power Commander map is already providing, so this question cannot appropriately be answered simply as "no".

GIPRO 2in1 TRE and digital gear indicator:whistling:
That seems to be the way to go especially if you don't already have a gear position indicator.
I'm using a plain old Ivan's TRE, but I designed, built, and installed my own 7 segment gear position indicator. They didn't have the GiPro back when I installed my TRE on my new 99 Hayabusa or I'd have likely purchased one. It's nice having a gear position indicator.

BUT if you have any kind of warranty I would not put a GIPRO on the bike. IMHO dealers are always looking for a way to void your warranty. Unless you are going to take it off each time you go for service which is a big PITA then I would not, thats all.

A TRE CANNOT void the factory warranty as it invokes the very fueling and ignition timing that 5th gear normally invokes.
Since Suzuki created the fueling and ignition timing that each gear uses (each only slightly different in fueling and ignition timing), then Suzuki simply could not refuse warranty work based on TRE usage, as the engine actually uses Suzuki's 5th gear fueling and ignition timing no differently than it does when the bike is normally in 5th gear!
For Suzuki to do so would be an admission that something is wrong with their 5th gear fueling and ignition mapping and that ain't gonna happen because there's nothing wrong with it.

I just ordered the gipro and will be installing by next Tuesday, if you need help to locate the connections I will take some pic of my install. The 2006 is probably near the same as the 2007. let me know

Personally I prefer the smart tre - takes a couple of mins to install/uninstall and I dont care for gear indicators anyway - thats whay god gave us ears and feel :)

I used a tre on my GSXR600 track bike . When i ride on or off track i use alot of engine braking with some fancy clutch work to help slow/slide the rear into corners . With the tre fitted i found the engin didnt want to drop its revs so quickly and found myself running wide alot wile trying to slow for a bend . I havent tryed it on the busa yet as the brakes need all the help they can get . Has anyone else had this problem ???? My advice is to be aware that after fitting one your bike mite go better but make sure you _CAN_ stop before you _NEED_ to stop .

Hi, Quasar, please help or make me understand if possible. I joined Busanation a while back when Tybalt mentioned you were the man for Euro Busas. I have been out of action for a while so never got round to asking.
First of all i know you will be sick and tired of TRE and map topics but this may be a little different.
I have an 02 Busa with one off stubbie cans, airbox mod, smart TRE, all short stacks, BMC filter, 4 deg Factory ignition advance, 1/5 throttle mod, two up on the rear sprocket, o2 sensor disconected and a PC3 USB.
I have had two custom maps made on the Dyno and am now running with a map supplied by Jeffo at FAIC tuners in the USA. This map is brilliant even though he didn't have access to my bike and bares no resemblance to the custom maps. The problem is I still have a glitch/ stumble at 2-3k rpm at low traffic speeds, maybe 30mph and no one seems to be able to get rid of it with fuelling. The other day I removed the TRE and the glitch was gone with no apparent loss in low end response. Top end is phenominal.
Jeffo at FAIC and the custom tuner are sure the problem is not fuelling (even though their maps bare no resemblance at all to each others) and as the removal of the TRE has got rid of it, I would agree. and say it was down to timing. However, Marc at Factory claims he has tuned numerous Busas with the 4 deg advancer and TRE, all of them did not get a glitch and says the issue is with fuelling.
I am so confused and am trying to understand if there is a link between fuelling and timing, suposed experts have conflicting views? I would like to run with the TRE as I did notice a certain crispness low to midrange and in my opinion the bike seemed to rev higher.
Have you any advice, comments or numbers I could try on my map? Even the maps confuse the hell out of me, you would think a custom dyno made map would work better but Jeffo's emailed map performs much, much better but I always understood a perfect map in one bike would not necessarily work in another, Jeffo supplied a similar map for my mate with an 07 Busa, he has exactly the same issues (he runs standard stacks and sprocket) ??? I have altered numbers in the 0 and 2% columns at revs 2-3500, lean and rich, nothing I have done seems to work, except removing the TRE. Out of interest, my mate has had to remove his 4 deg advance too to get rid of the problem. My Busa, for whatever reason has always made a healthy 12BHP more than the 07. I am currently getting a good 165BHP from my set up but I would rather keep the snapiness and rideability over hp.
Anything you could offer would be most gratefully received. Thank you for your time,
Matt.

Why use a TRE if you have a PC3??? You would have to ask a PC Tech make you a special map. And they are going to say that you don't need it.
