Because i read that you wish to slam and stretch your 05 hayabusa, you may want to look into a sidewinder system like Murray, Brocks, Tsukigi, they are mostly high performance pipes and look great as well, as for where to get these, stay tuned, :whistling:

Well depending on how much you want to spend will reflect which type/style exhaust you will want. You can get a set of those "car tip" style pipes (which I hear are pretty load) that are stainless steel and mirror polished for $450.00 or you can go with the Boz ystem which is the 4:2:1 design and exit right under the bike in front of the peg for $900.00
So I would FIRST ask myself these questions:
What is more important HP or sound?
Are you looking to shed 20 + pounds?
Are you mechanically inclined?
Do you want to remove the fairings and stock exhaust to install a new full system or would you rather just unbolt the stock cans (mufflers and mid-pipes) and slap on some tips?I would say if money is not a problem, you are going to drag race it, and want every once of HP while also shedding weight, then I would recommend the Brock's ALIEN HEAD EXHAUST SYSTEM. Here is a quote from their website warning you about how LOUD this system is.
ATTENTION: ALL Brock’s Performance “GP Style” Megaphones (Alien Head, Short Meg, Street Meg Shorty) mufflers are VERY LOUD. (Most register approximately 108 dB/A measured on the “A” scale at ½ indicated red line RPM at a distance of 0.5 meters (20 inches) in accordance with SAE J1287. The addition of our NRP-19 Noise Reduction plug results in a measurement of approximately 106 dB/A which is still VERY LOUD. All Brock’s Performance exhaust systems are FOR RACE USE ONLY with no D.O.T., C.A.R.B., or EURO emissions or sound approval. Consult local authorities for the requirements in your area. Brock’s Performance will not be responsible for noise violations (tickets) or any additional expenses incurred to convert or exchange any systems to a more socially acceptable sound level. ]
I wish I could afford to ditch my stock exhaust system.

acyually,im not to worried about the horsepower and weight right now cuz this is my first bike and i wanted to do it right the first time and get a really good bike,,and i am mechanically inclined and rather not take the fairings off so i was just thinkin of the ones that look like the car tips.also,i saw some on ebay for $65plus13 for baffles n 12 for shipping,do u think they are decent, and do u think i could make my own if i went to a exhaust shop n bought some and clamp or is their more work then that.

I was justing looking at those same ones myself. They sound pretty good and ar a reasonalbe price too. I'm debating on trying to replicate a set on my own. I'm going to do some shopping around at the local Auto Zone and Advance Auto and see if I can't make a set myself. I went to summitracing.com and looked at the various tips they offer as well. I personally like the stainless steel ones with the rolled ends. I let you know what I discover and create.
I don't think you can go wrong with those you found on ebay. For that price, if you don't like them, you shouldn't have a problem selling them and getting back some money. GOOD LUCK with what ever you do.

ill make it simple, just did it and ill post pics when i get a chance. first go to advanced auto, auto zone where ever and find a set of tips u like and that fit, i used 1 3/4" inch tips they fit great, then go online to jcwhitney or whatever site u would like that has the following,
baffles, any size u want the longer the more tuned
exhaust packing (brand of choice)
put the baffles and packing in the midpipe or the tips and mount on how u see fit u can open the tabs of the baffles as u need to to make it free'er flowing and aslo add packing around the baffle to "dampen" the sound and make it sound more tuned. cost me a total of $40 and i can make my busa sound just like i want it, either staright open and screaming or tuned down and suttle.

Just throwin' this out there....this is the "stock" mid pipes cut right behind the built-in baffle.....if U cut the pipe any shorter the baffle will be gone and you'll have open headers....

I know a handful that have done this exhaust mod and we all disagree on the tuning.....some did it and some haven't......I haven't . I would imagine tuning wouldn't hurt . :oh yeah:

i havent just yet becuase im waiting on the baffles and packing, personally i like it but its a little too loud for me having the family on a military base and all its kind of dis-respectful pulling up on my busa at 9pm when i get off work and no matter what i still cant be quite. so im gonna tune mine and will post the results when i get tha parts in and let ya know, i think it will be nice and tuned but still decently loud. as me and tybalt discussed before and shorty mufflers will be loud its just a matter of how loud.

this is a 04 636 and was wondering if he has to tune if he does the same to his bike, all he wants to do is just take of the yoshi pip and run off a midpipe

just dont want to screw anythin up,cut it right under where the canister bolts meet the midpipe, correct, and where is the baffles on the bike,in the midpipe?

I took my cans and mid-pipes off yesterday just to see what it would sond like. I must be getting old because I HATED IT while my 9 yer old son loved. It just reminded me of when I first got m License and I thought that what ever you drove had to be obnoxiuosly loud, because loder meant faster
Man was I such a dumb ass back then. I like a much deeper tone but not over whelmingly loud. I was hoping to like it because it definetly cleans the bike up by getting rid of the ugly cans that block from getting a good look wat my wheels and it would be a whole lot cheaper.
I like the Muzzy sidewinder because it gives the bike that pro-stock look, but I don't to have to worry about scrapig the pipe on right hand turns. Sometimes without thinking I throw it pretty hard into the turn and for that matter ,by habit, I would be afraid I would do the same with the sidewinder and fuck my shit up.

has anyone heard of d&d race exhausts on a busa?
i am currently running yoshimura dual exhausts on my 06 busa, they have a good sound but i always have yearned for a loud growl so have now ordered d&d race exhausts after one of my fren recommended that. dont know how they will sound, one of my fren is running his busa without the exhausts here to have a louder thing but i dont like the sound it is hurting to ears, just like a cracked sound, hope d&d race cans will produce a heavy loud growl than the yoshi's.........
if anyone has tried or running or heard them just tell me the experience....
