My hump did not hold enough stuff so I did a slight modification...

I already had a Kappa (Givi) 44 litre trunk on my FJ1200 so I removed the Givi baseplate from the FJ and the mounting base from the hump and bolted them together.

SW Motech is working on the trunk hardware that will work with the Givi cases and my SW Motech hardware for the side cases is scheduled to ship middle of June.

Howdy "jkind",
So how has this worked out for you. Any problems with just the two bolts holding the base plate on, did you find it secure enough?

I have had no issues at all.
The one bolt is a little short and I thought it would loosen up over time but it has not loosened at all.
I just received my SW Motech Alurack for mounting the trunk farther back so I can carry a passenger or carry more gear.

Hey jkind.......I'm assuming you tested this last year. I can't imagine you're doing any riding lately. I heard it was something like -40 C in parts of Alberta yesterday. Compliments on your imagination to make the setup work.

It was -30 last night and I had to boost the company truck first thing this morning...and no I have not ridden since November.

For just one up though, your inventivness is great. Looked at the SW set up and its a great set up with a pillion, but solo I think I'll have a crack at your idea!!!
