This post is basically going to be a yes or no to what I'm about to attempt. I am leaning towards buying the 2008 Yoshimura R77 exhaust for me 2007 Gen I Busa. This is the only forum that I've heard "Yes it will fit but will have some clearance issues with the belly pan." I really love the look of the R77 and wished Yosh made it an option to buy for the Gen I, but they didn't. Not really into the slash cut, round or oval type exhaust anymore. Kinda want to be creative and try something new. Did I mention I love the R77

The most important aspect of an exhaust to fit is the diameter of the header pipes and exhaust outlets. You can take any exhaust and mix and match systems i.e YOSH headers with BROCK mid pipe and pipe etc............ YES you will have fitment issues with the R-77 YOSH, however they do work, the 08 headers all makes, are the same fit and diameter as the the 99-07. The issue for fitment is not the exhaust lining up, its clearance issues like the oil cooler and touching the bodywork lower belly cowl. You have to address those issues.
You can make pretty well any combo work if you are mech freindly and can improvise.-Duane
Heres a better idea, if you are already running a full system leave the headers on(find out the diameter, 2", 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3" etc of the collector opening before the mid pipe/elbow) order the exhuast you want only order the mid-pipe/elbow and can if the diameter will fit onto the headers? you will use the exsisting headers with your new elbow and can. You may have to play then with mounting exhaust bracket which you can slide to line up with the passenger peg or exhaust hanger??? thats what i would do
* you need the newer mid-pipe/elbow to fit over the header pipe,(use any mounting hardware, springs and high temp silicon at all joints) if the header pipe is larger then the mid-pipe you risk more of an exhuast leak, follow???
As far as the R-77, great exhasut, however IMO, search out another system, everyone is runnng R-77, ok not on a GenI Busa, so U may be a 1st????
