HI Guys,

Here is the new Busa I'll be bracket racing out west. Bike makes incredable power, 186hp & 110ft. lbs on our dyno with pump fuel. Mods: Brock short-meg ceramic coated, PC3usb, ultra light clutch mod and lowered. Hope to see some good times out of it this season.

i cant waite to see what times you run!!! have you bracket raced before or is going to be new to you?? It will be really interesting to see if you are consistant or not racing it, lol this weekend i found that i was not consistant at all, i either let off due to spinning or wheeling and my ET,S were all over the place. keep us posted on your times ok!!!

To be honest, I have not even started it myself. James (my crew chief) has done all the mods & put about 400kms on it. I've been too busy to even look at it. He rode my old 1000, and said this new Busa will smoke it easy! We'll proably put some MR10 in it later in the season which should put it near 200hp.:not worthy:

Like Wolfman said, I have ran lots of E.T. racing. Last year I made the finals 4/6 events, and won 3. Usually we'll see 20+ competitors in the class. I usually try and bracket around .2 seconds off what I can run full out. I just change my launch technique. R/T is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing in bracket racing! After that you need to see what the other guy is doing and use the gas or brake to your advantage. Also having the quicker bike is also a slight advantage.

I agree, the color is awesome. The clutch mod is the Brock Ultra-Light mod. No cusion out for it yet. We also are using the new Brock Window Lowering Links, they are sweet units.

Pic from the weekend:

Bike makes great power. Ran mid 9's @ 150 on my 3rd pass in less than optimum conditions. Best of a 1.60 60' Getting more comfortable every pass.

I'll be in Edmonton soon. I'm not 100% if we will do Arm Drop or not. Sounds like fun but we need to test our big bike before the next CMDRA event.

I weigh 160 suited up. Track altitude was aproaching 4-5000ft. corrected. Temps were in the 100's+ at track level. Bike dynoed 174 stock, and 186 with pipe & pc. Those numbers ant 1/4 mile times were with 89 pump fuel. Another 10hp with some MR9/10.

I know all about the pipes, one of the guys I sponsor has an Alien Head on his, and he burned his boots / leathers all weekend. We ended up wrapping his leg with high temp foil wrap, it helped a bit. As for me my feet are always ahead of the exhaust outlet, right near the pegs. You gotta keep your legs as forward as possible to go fast.

Looks like we are going to have the same setup, Brock's short meg, Power commander, lowered, with clutch mod. If I ever get my bike, it has been at the dealership for a week but can't pick it up. I'am guessing it is the recall holding things up.

I was the person who posted the original warning about the Alien Head several weeks ago, and I got completely flamed. Since then I know of 7 others that have burned there legs and / or feet pretty badly. I've since modified my riding style and gotten lowered Buell pegs so that I get my feet up onto the pegs in second gear. Side benefit was I actually picked up MPH with the feet on the pegs. I weigh 205 in leathers, and ran 151.2 to 151.6 mph in yesterday's 98 degree heat at NED. These GenII bikes make serious power.

Cool,

The bike is lots of fun and is making great power. I'm not 100% confortable on Busa's since most of my racing is on GSX-R1000's but hopefully we'll turn in some good #'s at the next event.

I didn't see the thread. A/H pipes are in an "unusual" spot and the rider needs to adjust their riding style in order to keep from getting thier leg hot. Same thing goes for sidewinders, lots of guys have gotten the tops of thier feet warm...
