Thought I'd post a pic of the pair valve blockoff plates I made. They're $60 bucks from Brock and about $30 from Schnitz.

I hacksawed all the old air lines from their plate and welded the hole shut. Installed with some goo and voila. Pair Valve blockoff plates for free.

If you look closely at the header bolts, you'll note lots of corrosion. My bike is an 06' Limited and has about 7600 miles on it. That corrosion is what the Bonneville salt does to the bike!

PAIR VALVE REMOVAL MOD:(GENI 99-07)

First remove the bodywork and lift the tank.

You will find on the right side of the air box the pair valve hose.

You will remove the hose and plug the inlet to the air box. I used a bolt.

Next, loosen the boots on the throttle bodies and lift the air box a little.
You will find a pair valve vacumm hose on the #4 throttle body.

Remove the hose and cap the vacuum inlet.

Remove the four pair valve hard lines.

Install the block off plates using either factory pair valve gaskets (around $5 each from Suzuki) ,
use some Ultra Copper High Temp RTV, or do as I did and, make some gaskets out of flat stock

The last thing to do is unbolt the valve.
I left the bracket, because to remove it would require unbolting two case bolts.
All done and now you have something to hang on the wall.

What does this mod do?

it removes the PAIR VALVE emission controls that restrict the hayabusa, the pair valve itself recirculates unburnt fuel from the engine into the exhaust. where it detenates causing the popping and flames. just some more emissions crap.

it removes the PAIR VALVE emission controls that restrict the hayabusa, the pair valve itself recirculates unburnt fuel from the engine into the exhaust. where it detenates causing the popping and flames. just some more emissions crap.

The Pair Valve doesn't "restrict" the Hayabusa's performance in any way, nor does the Pair Valve "recirculate unburnt fuel from the engine". There is no recirculation of any exhaust gases taking place.

The Pair Valve merely introduces a small amount of fresh air directly into the headers at the exhaust port outlets in order to allow a more complete burn of the expelled exhaust gases. This doesn't rob the engine of any performance as these gases have already been spent and expelled by the engine's previous power-strokes.

The benefit in making the Pair Valve mod that uses the block off plates is that it no longer introduces any fresh air into the headers. This in turn eliminates the excessively lean condition in the headers that causes the backfiring that is readily heard after installing a straight-through performance exhaust with no chambered muffler compartments like that of stock mufflers. In actuality, the backfiring is always taking place EVEN WITH the OEM exhaust system, but the chambered mufflers greatly reduce the db level of the backfiring to the point that it isn't readily heard over engine and wind noise.

so in total, from what ive gathered, this mod isnt very good by itself but when u add motor work, turbo, etc. this mod is great to be able to accurately read A/F and such because the exhaust gases are no longer being leaned out by the fresh air of the pair valves, is that true?

will this mod cause any of the check lights to come on?

Does this mod apply to the B King as well?
