Wasn't too bad, I ended up with 2 points against the liscense and an $80 fine. Not bad....ticket was for 61 mph in a 20 mph curve. Back in the day, I would've left his azz ....guess I'm getting old. :roll eyes:

In Ontario points don't even matter. It's all about the number of convictions when it comes to determining the insurance rates. If I got convicted of every demerit-offense I've been charged with in the last 10 years, I would have accumulated a grand total of 9. Since they disappear after 2 years, I never would have accumulated more than 6 (single ticket) and my record would have been clear of the other ticket about 4 years ago.
That's why it's better to fight tickets tooth and nail here. 2 tickets for 1km/h over the limit would increase my insurance rates more than a single 3 demerit ticket (like running a red).

Alot of police officiers specially the new ones make mistakes on the ticket its self. Small technicalities wont get you out of a ticket. In busy cities like Toronto were courts are backed up, the crown will on it on accord dismiss alot of tickets in pre-trial.
You have nothing to lose if go to pre-trial, thats the time you can also plea bargin with crown. You dont need to have a parralegal to do this, specially for stupid minor infractions.
Welcome WARputer to the world of self-representation. Did you go through the web-site I sent you?

Chris, thats ok, not bad penalty and fine.
As for running, not for me and I am sure I speak for Warputer, its different now having families and children , we have to make it home each nite, its not about us anymore, My little one misses me and she counts on me and i am responsible for her. I cant take those risks anymore, its not worth my life, either I make it, go to jail or bite it! 2 of those are not an option for me, i wont preach to anybody, I apply this to my life and I hope all you guys get home safe to your families:cheers:

Generally, if you can afford a bike, you can afford decent legal representation for traffic cases, thus keeping your record clean. That's why running is pointless.
