Anyone put a full system on there K8 yet, Yoshi or Ackra ? any pics comments etc would be appreciated. Did you use PC with your set ups?

Am I correct in thinking that if you install slip ons the cat is still left in place?

I have just contacted the UK importer for Yoshi and apparently the 4-2-1 down pipes won't be available until the end of March. I can get slip on's but I want the full system

Does anyone know if it's available in the States ? if so where?

Just installed a full Yoshimura system. WoW do you guys realise how much the stock cannons and headers weigh? I could not believe the weight of these things, not only are the hideously ugly, they make the bike look as wide as a bus and they must weigh close on 15 kilo's each let alone the headers. Not only are you getting a better sound you are also MASSIVELY reducing the weight but also gaining hp and torque. A win win situation.

I have also fitted a Power Commander and now it's at Slick Performance for the Dyno setup. I wasn't able to get a K&N air filter so Slick has sourced an alternative from elsewhere.

For those of you that may be interested Slick Bass was the Technician that worked with Carl Foggerty, he built his engines and tuned his bikes a real God. Luckily enough since Foggy stopped racing Slick Bass has setup shop here in the Isle of Man and now builds engines and tuning etc for the road racers here and is flat out at TT and the Manx Grand Prix. No better man than him then to play around with my K8 http://www.busanation.com/forum/images/icons/icon6.gif

I did not get a dyno reading with the stock setup as I fitted the exhaust myself but I will get readouts of the setup with a standard map and then one with a custom map. It will be interesting to see what gains can be achieved.

I haven't really done this for any power gain (although more is never enough) but rather to get rid of those freakinly ugly cannons off my bike and to improve the sound. Loud bikes save lives......think off the partially deaf folk that might step out onto the road in front of you with the muted stock pipes eh:oh yeah:

Oh did I mention how ugly and HEAVY the stock behemoths are":not worthy:

Ahh - might have to wait for a bit then. I am picking up my new 'busa tomorrow - It is a replacement for a BMW K1200R that was crushed by a taxi 8 months ago (while I was aboard!). I have just got off crutches - and can't wait to feel the freedom of motorcycling again.

great forum folks!!!

I really like the dual slash shorty look ( eg. hotbodies, tailwindz, etc..I also like brocks/ah & muzzy m10s too!! ) , but am wondering if the 40 minute commute each way will make LOUD unbearable...Please excuse the following question if it seems unreasonable - because I'm wondering the same thing - how the hec can you expect a shorty with no room for packing to be anything but unbearable. Here goes. anyway...Can anyone point me in the right direction of shorties that have a more "tapered/reserved" sound? :umm:

Welcome:cheers:

Yes, Welcome! I've been pondering this very question, too. And I would like to maybe add some direction in hopes that someone will help us:

I noticed one of our members had posted a clip or two of how his bike sounded with shorties. Yet another member posted a response/comment to the effect that they sounded like when he used to run his bike with NO exhaust.

So, just for kicks, I took both exhaust cans off and ran around for about an hour with nothing. Holy shit was it loud. I mean... on the freeway it wasn't so bad... and the sound was killer... just really freaking loud for around town. I don't see myself getting away with that for long without getting a noise ticket.

So my question is... are these shorties able to make the sound much quieter than that?

Thanks for any guidance or input you have...

Reflected on something my Dad always said, "Son, choosing a lady boils down to choosing from the following options - Single, Sane & Attractive - you will only ever get to pick two"

As far as exhausts go, I chose Brocks-AH. I opted for performance & looks! I'll have to cross the noise violation bridge, one ticket at a time! :oh yeah:

Good Luck!

I am running a full titanium TiForce system, total weight 5.5kg's (12.1Lb), Increase on Dyno was 14rwhp without PC. The titanium has gone a really nice Purple/blue with the heat, it is important that u use a grease & Wax remover on the pipes before initial start up to prevent permanent scarring of fingerprints etc onto the titanium.
By the way, stock system weighs 23 kg's (50.6Lb) each muffler is 8kg's (17.6Lb) headers 7kg (15.4Lb).
I find this system quiet when cruising, but knock it back a couple of gears and give it some stick, it fuckin' barks!.

Cheers,

Where do you find these? There's nothing even close on the Micron website...

this is my bike and the girls love the sound and hot looking ride. It makes the other sport bikes in the area jealous.they always ask me where I got the exhaust system .When I drive by a cop I just pull in the clutch lever and it gets quiet. I am crazy about the GP sound and it sounds the same as my 2003 Lamborghini Murcielago
