you might be surprised how quick they are in fact they are bike quick. 0-60 0-100 he will be right there! check performance numbers and i bet you wont race 4 $$ or pinks..lol a stock 427 cbra puts up V-MAX #'S... shit from 0-100 you cant grab a $100 bill from the sun visor of a stock cobra..never been done too many g's...pass on this one..

awww come on now chris...you HAVE to know what the clutch mod it...the stock clutch hub is 2 pieces and tends to slip hardcore when getting on it..the mod gives you heavier duty springs and makes that hub a one piece..i would get beat by 600's all day long without that,then when i changed JUST that,never lost again..:oh yeah:

haha..that was my FIRSt!!! it is a must bro..i am running all heavy duty springs with washers under them..i want to make sure it won't slip again..lol.alot of people only run 3 heavies and 3 stocks..even though mine is a daily driver,i will deal with the sore left forearm.. :)

However, I'd be more affraid of him fish tailing into you than loosing. Those cars are light from a dig and can be fast....BUT....if he isn't setup correctly (like you) it could be nasty. If your local track will let you run together, why not have a little fun with him.... :oh yeah:

....so 12 second 1/4 miles? Thats what a Vmax turns in the quarter. They turn high 9's with the V boost taken out, and a chain conversion kit installed (shaft drive gone).

good god man...good luck with that then..a friend of mines turbo busa ran 5.20's in the 1/8 and i know a guy back home who's car runs high 4's but is DEFINETLY not street legal..

Just to give you a base line.... '06 Busa with Pipe, Power Commander, BMC Filter, Airbox Mod, Lowering Link in the Rear, Lowering strap up front, and someone like Keith Dennis on the bike it would probably go an 8.90's - 9.00. A good rider with those Mods, will probably go 9 "Teens".

find out what he does the quater in .

if its anything over 10 sec you will beat him .

standing start is what you want , the motorbikes advantages are :
1. sheer aceleration ( rolling starts are crap ) just put the bike at the disadvantage.
2. Top end speed.

the other point is , if its not a stock car running against a busa then you run a non-stock busa against his car .

dont run a drag car against a street car ( stock) its not a level playing field.

after saying that , tell him to take his wannbe car and stick it up his bum .
tell him he isnt worth racing until he gets a timeslip for the quater mile in the 9 second barrier.

Yeah there is not much of a chance it 1/8th miles sub 5 seconds on that small of a tire.

This car runs 4.81@158 sec 1/8th..... this is the fastest drag radial car right now.

EDIT:Oh yeah I almost forgot it would take 1850 whp to make a 3200lb car run 158 in the 1/8th. It would require 1260 whp to do it at 2200lbs.

The cobra pic I posted is not his car....I just thru that up so some guys would't get it confused with the "mustang cobra". His Cobra is tubbed with Micky Thompson ET slicks ....looks like about a 20 inch wide tire .

The owner hasn't talked any junk ...mainly our co-workers are egging me on to run him . The Cobra guy's only input was....he only runs for $$$. :oh yeah:

Uh, unless he has NO drag racing experience this is an easy race. I ran 9.72@143 on a completely stock 06 Busa..... that Cobra will not run 9.73. Now if you roll race him from 70.... you might lose. Roll racing bikes against cars is something I know a great deal about (from the car side).:thumbs up:

My Cobra will outrun a stock Hayabusa from a roll..... ask me how I know. It weighs 3760lbs and makes 620rwhp, fastest 1/4 mile was 10.83@135, but from a roll it stays with my buddys 9.40 ZX10.:oh yeah:

If the car isn't trapping 144+ I think you will also pull him from a 40 or 60 roll up to 160mph. If you aren't comfortable with the launch it won't take much for an 11-second car to stay with you...

Never been on the track but in my defense .....riding bikes for 22 years and launched against a crap load of cars/bikes in my younger days......most recently a Subaru Impezna WRX( spanked him)......which I know isn't anything compared to this guys Cobra . I figure if it's a street race for a mile or so, he'll top out quickly . :confused:No way that I'd run him in the 1/4 ....on a track !
