Ive read a ton of info about set-up for track days and the twisties. I have seen almost nothing for rear suspention on drag bikes. The rear suspention play a huge roll on the strip in relation to weight transfer and hooking up. Anyway I thought it would be some good info to pass along to the new guys who are planning to hit the strip, from those who have alot more passes. My passes are just from last year, may be a total of 350-400 at best, 80% were 1/8 mile. The best success I had was by softening up my comp. damping 10 clicks allowing the bike to squwat better on launch, the same with rebound going 14 clicks. this keeps the bike down longer, keeping the weight tranfered back. My bike was lowered 2" in the rear and 1.75" in front where I have only added preload. Screwed down to 4 lines. I never made much time up on the big end ,it was always my 60' & 330' times that made the biggest gains. my best 60' is 1.52, and a best 1/8th @ 6.27, 10 psi shinko 003U, 16/46. The set-up I desribed on my bike is NOT recommended for the street, so no one gets hurt. I'd like to here from the rest of the drag racers about your set-ups. Thanks

I've only got a total of 5 runs on my Busa, left the suspension the same way I ride it on the street. Figure if its a S&S bike, why make changes (unless there was a safety consideration). Not even a scratch of seat time and my 60' shows it :) which best of the night was a 2.1 ..... embarrassing to even post that really.
Now I did have the pleasure of launching a friends Busa, before and after a drag shock install and it was a world of difference, for as little as they cost (well in terms for what other people sell them for I seem to have a good deal on them) they make a huge difference.
